Easyjet Europe
Hey everyone,
I’ve tried finding a thread explaining the current situation with Easy especially the assessment process from the online application all the way to the simulator and interview phase.
I would appreciate it if anyone can shed some light concerning the hiring process for direct entry FOs and CPTs and also give some information regarding the new contracts offered by Easy in Portugal as that’s where they hiring at the moment. Salary, roster pattern, command upgrade opportunities, life in Easy and out for people based in Portugal etc.
Thank you in advance for any feedback.

I can't help you with specific figures, but Portugal is really the only country EZJ is craving for pilots. It is mainly because there is a huge disadvantage in the take home pay between Portugal and its peers, so a lot of people are not interested. Tax is high in Portugal (48% excluding national insurance/social security), and the cost of living as risen sharply recently (before inflation news this year). You might qualify for the NHR scheme there and benefit for a reduced 20% tax (Google it) but there are rumours it will be closing soon.

I don't work at EZJ so I can't help you with that. The info above was based on an offer pre-covid. I would say for command will take approximately 5 to 6 years, slightly longer than RYR (if you are not experienced), maybe half of that if you have some hours under your belt.

It all depends on how flexible you are in accepting a different base when upgrading, but with the commands since this year being more seniority based than before, it is very hard to estimate.
There are in the region of 100/150 upgrades per year, but many FOs with the requirements after 2 years of commands freeze.
If willing to accept the non popular seasonal bases it could be as low as 3/4 years if with proper experience, wild guess?
Company is not expanding as it used to, and attrition is very low on the left seat.
