I can't help you with specific figures, but Portugal is really the only country EZJ is craving for pilots. It is mainly because there is a huge disadvantage in the take home pay between Portugal and its peers, so a lot of people are not interested. Tax is high in Portugal (48% excluding national insurance/social security), and the cost of living as risen sharply recently (before inflation news this year). You might qualify for the NHR scheme there and benefit for a reduced 20% tax (Google it) but there are rumours it will be closing soon.
thank you for the info, despite tax being at 48%, plus social insurance etc, what about the time needed to move from the right hand seat to the left hand seat? I’ve read another post that conditions in Portugal have improved but that thread was since 2018..
