Still trying to find out more about the bases in Europe, they said that would come. Current advertisements still for 20/10 in KEF.

WOW Air Announces $69.99 Daily Flights From The US West Coast To Europe, from Jan. 15.
"Other airlines have been talking about offering these fares," ----- "But Iceland's WOW air is actually doing it."
A trans-Atlantic fare war could be brewing as airlines that already offer some of the cheapest tickets between North America and Europe get set to do battle.
WOW Air's California routes are serviced by three new Airbus A330 aircrafts, the first wide-body jets in the WOW air fleet. The airline operates the youngest fleet in Iceland with the lowest emission.
Icelandic discount carrier WOW rolled out $69.99 one-way fares on Tuesday - Jan 10 for its flights from Los Angeles and San Francisco to four destinations in Europe.
The fares—good for flights from Jan. 15 through April 5—are now being sold on connecting itineraries
to Stockholm; Copenhagen; Bristol, England; and Edinburgh, Scotland.
WOW billed the fares as "its lowest airline prices yet" for customers flying between California and Europe.
But it's the $69.99 fares from California that are most likely to grab headlines Tuesday. CEO Skúli Mogensen told Today in the Sky he aimed to make the rock-bottom prices a regular offering.
"I don't want to introduce this as a sale," CEO Mogensen said. "It's really setting the stage for what is coming."
What is coming is a potentially bruising turf battle with Norwegian Air, another fast-growing "ultra low-cost carrier" that's also rapidly expanding on routes between the USA and Europe.
It's likely no coincidence that WOW's just-announced $69 fares came after Norwegian Air officials spent much of the holiday season on a European media blitz promising $69 fares between Europe and the United States " sometime in 2017 ".
"Other airlines have been talking about offering these fares," WOW Air said in a press release, adding: "But Iceland's WOW air is actually doing it."
Mogensen was slightly more measured when asked directly if WOW's $69 fares were in response to the chatter from Norwegian.
"What I would simply say is that I am thrilled to be introducing these fares on the trans-Atlantic market," Mogensen said. "I think there's going to be fierce competition on all routes."
The company will add two new U.S. destinations later this year, adding service to Miami in April and to Pittsburgh in June.
WOW began flying in 2012 and now flies to more than 30 destinations, including seven in the United States and two in Canada. WOW is already flying from its hub near Reykjavík to Baltimore/Washington, Boston, Los Angeles, Newark Liberty and San Francisco.

This is a good article about what it is like to fly as a passenger from LA to London via KEF on WOW at a very low airfare. It is good to hear they try to be upfront about the add-on fees to manage expectations:

WOW Air is recruiting themselves now it seems:

It appears the recruitment via obscure agencies didn't go to well.
Hopefully the original conditions are back on offer...

same as last year, hostel instead of apartment, pay cuts, foreigner treated like 2nd class, many locals with no clue of flying, poor training, no sops, no knowledge...it's just to keep you current and as soon as you find something better you go, as many are doing or did.
we have already lost our best guys, it's a pity.
potential is huge. when management is coming all are lying to show happiness, is really just a parking slot to wait for better opportunities, nothing else. so sad.

Based on the last two posts, why would anyone want to work there, ever? Even if only as a stepping stone, why do people legitimize these useless jobs that only drag the rest of the profession down into the mud?!

now only desperates are going there, or people that aren't aware of the problem. last year it wasn't clear the situation.
flying an airliner is a tremendous responsibility, people give their lives in our hands.
here the priority is ashtagging on Instagram and posting on Facebook. no organisation, no solid sops (no sops at all) no training no safety culture. it's a big flying club, off we go. and font's upset the flight attendants, they get more money than you do as a pilot and they don't want to be stressed by a briefing that only foreigners perform. briefing is not necessary, nobody know any emergency commands and nobody even think that this extreme weather is a safety enemy. hope everything will go well, i doubt, but i hope. please keep distance if you can, or be absolutely honest with yourself, you don't care about others, you just fly single pilot and you will be safe. but if you are going to become incapacitated nobody will rescue you, nor the other souls on board in the middle of the Atlantic, at night, with bad weather.

as i wrote in previous post, accommodation hostel, roster stability good, working block normally 20 (18 plus 2 travel days), money depends on your experience but gross as cpt between 8 and 12, so expect 6 to 8 net. ccq only locals or local contract. just very few FO did it with ext contract. CPT nobody, even high experienced trainers stuck on the 320. the huge problem is training (absent) and the culture (too easy going).
if you don't care, it's a good adventure.
