Afternoon gents
Not a cadet here, but a rather experienced TP guy, well over Wizz's min requirements bar A320/JOC.
Can any of those who attended the infamous "orientation" course and had an interview thereafter spare some info on the expectations they have for the course itself?
In other words has it been rumored that one course is better than another? Personally (speaking from experience) I think that no matter where you shop, when you have some turbine experience (i.e. KingAir/Metro/Cheyenne or similar) the course itself is a waste of money but I don't write the rules of engagement here.
Looking up on the internet, you can spend anything from 750 GBP/2 days course to 2000/5days. Personally I know how much I would "invest", knowing that it is just another box ticked...
Thanks for any (sensible) information...

If you have hours on A320 they will consider you..but your other thread said you were 737 rated with no jet hours? Or do you have both type ratings with no hours on anything? In which case they will make you do A320 rating.

Someone suggests an "internal referral" would be a nice thing to have...

Another one in Romania... well, good luck. Years ago they spoke about Ljubliana(Slovenia) or some other western bases. That never happened(if it would I would be glad to fly for them).
I never really considered Wizz because of their very "eastern orientated" base of operation. The only place I would go is Budapest, and that is so full that you never have a chance as newjoiner(and most likely as well never lateron).
Good company for Hungarian pilots and everything east of that. A western european must be most likely very desperate to go there, based on things like salary, rent for a second home(room) and terrible proceeding home after your "on" days. Not speaking of a self sponsored A320 typerating. No thanks.

Honestly, Wizz Air is not 2 bad after all.
Yes there are no western bases, however if you do not have any financial obligations at your home, like mortgage, or paying for your apartment etc. then moving to eastern europe, and receiving the salary that Wizz provides, will actully make you live like a "king". Maybe not in the first year as FO since you have to deduct the type rating if you do not have it yourself. After that it is acceptable, and then with another payrise on the horizon, it will only improve.
Some of the eastern bases are actually pretty nice(we do also have Prague)...
If you do not get your prefered base, then commuting might be a hazzle, but as in every airline, you have some negatives.
Overall Wizz Air is a decent package, maybe not for the rest of your life, but for a good amount of time, that is for sure.

No idea, the recruitment team changed about half a year ago or more...I guess you just have to keep updating the profile and hope for the best. They need pilots next year, so keep the head up

......gosh...if i read this i'm happy i refused the job offer. LZ-DOC, can i ask you for what monthly salary you have to cope with this bs.
And what do you mean with "planned extensions"?
Is there no other job possibility for you in civilised Europe?
Grtz

Tx Syntax for the eye opener. I refused their contract 2 years ago because it was crap. I was feeling ashamed if i would accept that. What i also noticed was that commuting was nearly impossible. Just because of the fact that they were not operating a daily flight to my home and back, so this would already give me a headache in how to reach my destination, which also means that i could not stay all off days at home.
If they are changing roster every week and calling you on Off days ( i am very allergic to the latter), it would consider Wizz as a no-go.
Did you now find a better flying job then or did you quit flying?
