Non-TR DEC and FO Recruitment Jet2

Applied in July, Mil with 2700tt and a recommend. Still no contact from Jet2, just "application received". I appreciate that they are busy but any update would be really welcome.

I was Sim checked in September , the check seemed to go well from feedback received but I haven't heard if I was successful or not. Although, I received an email at the end of last month saying thanks for completing Sim check, etc we have had lot of interest in the positions and I could expect to hear in two weeks. It's been 4 weeks since that email! I don't think communication has been the high point of the recruiting campaign.

As long as it takes for them to recruit (cheaper) type rated Pilots.
I suspect if they dont find T/R pilots they will go to NTR. T/R pilots are currently being offered jobs and beginning to resign so i would imagine if required they will be calling some of you soon

I had 3 recommendations, 500 on type, current rating, ex AEU and I got a PFO last week...However the week before I was emailed from HR direct saying:

Thank you for attending the recent Pilot Assessment day and for completing the Simulator Assessment as part of our selection procedure.

We have had a very high level of interest in these positions and a final decision on your application will be taken shortly. Thank you for your patience during this process – I expect to be in touch over the next two weeks..

Funny thing is I never attended a pilot assessment??...The words total shambles comes to mind...

P.S. If someone with the first name "Stephen" has been for an SIM assessment and hasn't heard anything it maybe because I received your email..

Non-TR DEC and FO Recruitment Jet2

Anyone any news at all?
Getting a little sick of waiting now, it's gone past being impatient, it's bordering on ludicrous.
Not the best start if they are hoping to poach TR guys.
Some sort of update would be nice.

A friend told me that he had spoken to HR and was told to expect a decision within the week although this was 3 weeks ago!!!

On another note, I've just checked my application status on the website and my application has been removed. It was there yesterday so I'm assuming that this is Jet2's way of informing me of an unsuccessful application. A letter/email would have been nice though!

Good luck to all those in a similar situation

Jet2 HR are probably the weakest link in the whole group, so don't judge Jet2 by the feed back from HR and yes they will take any type rated guy over someone non rated.

The HR department is regards as a huge joke internally from the CP down, they will be short of guys come spring and everyone knows it HR aside, so keep your powder dry, they need someone to sit in these seats

Type rating

Well what about Type Rated but without hours on type? There doesn't seems to be an application form for these Guys/Girls......Does this not count for anything when coupled with 2000 G/A Instructing experience?

Reality

The majority of pilots recruited at Jet2 are indeed type rated. That is a fact.

Type rating?

Go Around flaps 15.....

Could you say if there would be any point in being type rated without hours on type for a future application?

Problem is, there isn't a Jet 2 Pilot vacancy position that asks for this. At the moment the only exception would be the Second Officer position and I doubt that would be a realistic option as the company would be looking to type rate and train in house to their own procedures / sop's etc which is understandable.

Harsh but...I think you've answered your own question! 129 pilots recruited with a business model that is very seasonal at the moment; I would hazard a guess that people who can arrive and be on the line in the minimum 10-20 sectors for when the next new recruits arrive is probably part of the plan!

I feel I should say a few words for those hard working folk in the rostering/planning office...

I think it must be getting a bit late in the day now for anymore experienced NTR to be assessed given the standard 3 month notice, TR, LT, etc... oh well back to the TP for another year!

Flying TP's does suck, but we can revel in the knowledge that these zero to hero CTC/CAE folk will never know the truly sucky end of the market

WX Man. I don't agree. I spent 6000 hrs flying turbo props before moving on to jets. Loved every minute of it!
