Can anyone confirm what the requirements are to join the command waiting list in Easyjet. Under the NEC has it changed? I was told during selection that you could join the bottom of the list after 2 successful sims and meeting the required factored hours.

Hi everyone. Offered a position at CDG. Could someone confirm whether easyJet pay you in France through the french tax system (and if so the rates) or whether its paid through the British tax system. I'm a Brit.

Any suggestions regarding places to live/ rent etc which are cheap with easy access to the airport along with any advice regarding living in France/ working for easyJet will be gratefully received and very much appreciated (private message me)

Would love to hear from other people already working for easy in CDG or have been offered a position.

Hi Gladreemer,

Paid in France, in Euros, French social security (~22%) is taken out of your monthly salary and income tax is a bill at the end of the year. Income tax is variable and depends greatly on your domestic situation.

The French contract is the best in ezy both in terms of salary and working conditions. Congratulations on passing the selection!

Roissy is cheap and right next to the airport with buses running to/from the airport from 0500-0100. They're hotel shuttles, but shhhh

Indeed 22% social security. If you commute from the UK you will have to pay full UK tax on the remaining 78%.
Contract is good, BUT is under great pressure, the company is working on a secret project called "DEEP DIVE"!
There are also rumors that new entrants will be offered new T&C's, despite refusal from the Union, so be careful with what you sign.

Wo Ping, go to the SNPL website and read under Asterix documents. You can start to worry now!

Gladremeer,

Do get your contract 'checked over' by SNPL before you sign and return it.

Don't assume anything if you know what I mean.

Hope you enjoy Paris. Great bases staffed by nice crews who get on with the job despite the negative rhetoric from H89.

Still waiting

After I received the mail that I passed the online tests, I haven't received anything since.
I am non type-rated on the Airbus.
Anyone any idea why I haven't received an invitation for the second round? I mailed them, but nothing.
Cheers!

Any other fellow hold poolers just received the dreaded news that there are no further positions this year? We've got a year apparently until we have to go through the whole process again. Anyone on the inside got any encouraging news for us?

Do you mean, you were fully successful and now no position offered?

Yes, same email here.

We all received an email stating "we were successful and we are being offered a position as FO with easyJet" and "we will contact you with a start date soon".

Now a few weeks later, we received an email that there were no positions for summer 2014. And our application expires within 12 months.
I really wonder what the people are going to do that already informed their employers.

Thumbs down

Yes, exactly!
Initially they warmly congratulate you for being part of the top 3% of candidates who passed the full selection and then nicely inform you that they have no position to offer since they have already met their requirements for summer 2014! But hey, I still can apply in the future... I'm just disgusted

If you've told your current employer then you have made a school boy error. You should have waited until you had your contract in hand and a start date.

Chaps

Like many of you I have been an active part of this thread from the start. I cannot remember who it was, and I can't be bothered to look, but there was a post early on that this was a bogus recruitment ploy by EZY to satisfy BALPA after a recent derogatory report about EZY's recruitment and pilot demographic. I thought the poster was being a negative cynic and duly applied like many others!

Now, having read your posts above, I think the original poster was wholly correct. I was thinned out from selection early on which, as an ex-mil FJ guy, I would expect in the current competitive market. I have followed the pages since and I have often wondered what I would have done faced with the post interview dilemmas posted.

Now we see EZY posting record profits and do we wonder why?

Like many of you I will continue to search for the RHS that is the best one for me. It will not be with EZY!

Best of luck

Swept to be fair I know at least two guys from an extremely similar background to me that have received firm offers in the last couple of weeks. It hasn't been totally bogus. I'm probably in a minority in that I know EXACTLY the reason why I did not receive an offer this time around and it's mainly because of an extremely unfortunate set of events in terms of timing. There have been a few aspects that have been less than satisfactory but I'm not about to go bashing on a public forum, or at all, because I would still like to work for easyJet.
