From what I've heard, we will take easy flexi pilots and CTC but will be mixing that up with experienced Turboprop/military etc.
Were there any CTC cadets interviewed?

At my interview they mentioned cadets starting after April / May when the courses for TR or experienced Non TR had taken place.

This may have changed since my interview though.

I think they're just old. I think I'm right in saying Monarch's 75s are all around 25 years old, which will probably mean high maintenance costs and more frequent tech delays.

Plus it's more efficient to use a common fleet, i.e. the A320 family.

Does anyone know if Monarch have come to a decision regarding their long haul business?

1/3rd of approx 100 newbees are cadets(some MPL)
757 going for same reasons A300, old, harder to keep legal given regulatory changes, economies of scale for an all FBW fleet and we are going short haul schedule.....I read a post earlier about someone upset that we werent recruiting into luton and now we are. Obviously i don't know your personal circumstances but I would advise taking any base and then applying for your wanted base. IMHO most guys get where they want within couple of years. To add to this new joiners had to move to any base upon command but our cc has even got this changed so if you are settled you don't haveto move. Presently we are top heavy LTN and MAN so probably harder to get these upon starting. However as we have new bases we are being incentivised to move to these bases (a very nice wedge) to move. Knowing Monarch we will then be short in these previously busy bases....

When the 75's get retired, will A320 / 321 replace them......or are Monarch looking at a larger airframe?

It looks like a320/321 replacements. We will not be leasing larger aircraft as LH going

Is it true that 100 people were offered a start date during this last spell?

How many interviews would've been conducted to get to this figure out of interest? and all this without sim checks?

Unless "mesh" really knows what he's talking about, he doesn't know any more than anyone else. Not even Mr Spotty knows.

Man thrust, when I state a fact it's a fact. When I speculate I aim to mention that it's just my personal opinion. I don't know everything that Monarch plans, I don't make out that I am in some privileged position and am the font of all knowledge. I try to Answer questions asked and predict what I believe may happen, this is a rumour network after all. For example, some time ago I went to some lengths to explain our plans for SH v LH. If you were with me in the Management presentation then you will have heard that we are planing to go down the SH schedule route whilst keeping an eye on the LH Market..fact! Now I don't think we will go any further with LH and this is what I state, I don't know for sure, nobody does but a calculated guess from someone at Monarch surely is useful to Monarch wannabes. I do know what courses are going on and I do know how many FOs we have employed and I do know we may be short a bit. Most pilots at Monarch know this, they all go to the meeting some may even chat to management, engineers etc and have a good idea of our future, all I try to do is pass this on to those who want to listen....

Thanks Mesh for all your updates, along with others waiting on a phone call, email, carrier pigeon, from Monarch, any snippet of information is appreciated. The LH vs SH debate doesn't really bother me at the moment, hopefully I get a chance to get in and see what the future holds.

Super pilot, yup around 100 maybe just under. Management spent many hours interviewing I can't tell how many were looked at but we did have a lot of type rated guys and girls apply. No sims, again you are correct. We tend to look at experience and go along the line that if you have the interview you can fly, we then have training period to get you to the Monarch standard or if you don't manage it possibly a goodbye. Not many people get to this point as a lot of extra training is given, more than most operators would give.

Mesh; I seem to have touched a bit of a raw nerve here?
But as your previous post said " LH is going" and it isn't , could you just clear up whether your post was factual or just a rumour.
For the record, I love a good rumour.
