Serenity, if that was directed at me based on my above post then let me say I would like to be the first to acknowledge Monarch's fairness in this industry - something which they owe to nobody. However my frustration regarding cadets which I share with hundreds of others remains genuine. The main point in question being some have graduated after the recruitment campaign ended, but still ended up being interviewed and then hired. I don't want this thread to turn negative towards anyone and the general mood of this thread has remained positive so far simply because Monarch are an employer that earn respect through their actions. My application is still on hold status at this time so there is hope.

We will allways take a few last minute rated guys to fill up courses if some drop out to stay with our competitors. I don't know what this supposed intake of last minute CTC cadets is. As stated earlier the only cadets we have taken number around 30(some MPL), a third of this years recruitment. We will continue to take CTC cadets as from a business point of view they are a low cost, low risk, known entity, be it fair or not. Those in the hold list have not lost out to a stealth group. The good news is and again this is only my humble opinion, we will be recruiting another 60 plus guys later on in the year. I would expect interviewing to start in a couple of months once we are more certain of aircraft fleets. This would of course go hand in hand with my earlier prediction of aircraft numbering 50 plus. ps I would lay money on another 40 odd command announcements in the near future...good luck to you all

Mesh - thank you very much again. I know it's only an opinion, but actually with most of the BEE pilots today looking over their shoulders and shuddering a bit, any hint of information to suggest that we might not be staring into a abyss is greatly welcomed!!

Will continue to keep everything possible crossed that your opinion turns out to be correct!

Very many thanks...

I had the following e-mail from Monarch today: (23/01/13)

Dear Applicant

We know it has been a little while since our last correspondence but I would like to update you on our current pilot recruitment programme.

Unfortunately, we have now finished recruiting for our 2012/13 Season, however your particulars will be kept in a holding pool and put forward for consideration for possible Summer 2013 recruitment. Once we have confirmation of our projection for further recruitment we will be back in contact with you but please be advised you may not hear from us until mid March 2013.

We would be grateful if you would advise us of any change of address or circumstances in the interim. Should you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for your continued interest in Monarch Airlines.

Yours sincerely,

That would tie in with the command board meeting March. Once the next chunk mentioned and a clearer idea on aircraft numbers. I would imagine we would split intake as before so hope for all out there...

Yes RexBanner, I am one of those Flybe monkeys. Like you I missed the cut-off last time due work and the short window, but it won't stop me applying should they open it again.
