RYR Actual Leaving Numbers - You Contribute!
As the active Ryanair discussions regarding the amount of pilots leaving and where they are going all seem to lose track and end up in the usual 'paying for TR' catfight, let's try and gather the statistics in this thread. Post number of pilots that have left since 1 nov 2010 as well as pilots that have resigned and are working their notice.
Post figures to your best knowledge, per base, preferably using below format. You dont have to post figures for your own base.
Ex.
Base: XYZ
CPTs leaving: 1/Emirates, 3/Etihad, 5/BA.
F/Os leaving: 4/Virgin, 2/Cargolux.
Total from Base: 15
Please moderators, try and keep the thread confined to relevant posts as this information is essential to RYR pilots.

This information is essential to RYR management more like!
Very similar language used as in 'present info in this format'
to the memo about how to text info to DUB when on a diversion.

10% attrition almost....
A lot of guys keeping very quiet too about their plans, don't be surprised if that total jumps up another 50. I know of at least 5 planning on EK.
If these numbers are true, I'm completely perplexed why nothing is really being done, apart from the recent reinstatement of DECs.
So, are these numbers that galacticosh and co post really carry any truth? I kind of hope so!!

Sure, a lot of folks complain and talk about jumping ship, but honestly the hard facts don't really reflect a "mass exodus", at least not in CRL, which, with 13 machines and a pilot group of about 130 can be considered a major base in our network.
crew left or leaving since last november:
Captains : 0
FO's: 0
Having said that, 3 captains were hired by AF back in 2008 and are still waiting for a start date.

Predictably most are leaving for long haul EK/BA(ultimately) etc and I know from a conversation had some time ago with a member of m/ment they arent concerned by that.
In fact he stated they are not trying to compete with the longhaul boys and will never be able to stop people leaving for the longhaul or leaving to fly the big stuff.
The only thing that will get FRs attention if we start losing people to similiar airlines ie EZY, FlyBe, Jet2 etc.
And that is not happening in anything like the numbers (if at all) for the company to stand up and take note.
You have to hand it to FR its just not bad enough for the 'mass exodus'.
I believe there are over 2500 pilots in FR now. We cant all be deluded. If it was better anywhere else in the UK for a senior Capt and gets me home everynight to see my missus I would be applying. Sadly cant find it.

Home every night, but a ****e contract (PAYE or Brookfield) and a nasty little gang of thieves running the show.
I am leaving, cant wait, I absolutely hate and embarrased to work for Ryanair.

I have also heard from a good source in Dublin that 250ish pilots have or are working their notice since December and there are more joining that figure every week, including me.
IMHO, I don't think RYR managment are going to offer didly squat to the crews, whos professionalism and hard work, make the bloody thing work! They will patch up the summer schedule by getting pilots to work days off and refuse leave to everyone. If they get really stuck, they will wet lease, then dig their heels in until new aircraft deliveries stop in 2012 and then they can plug the gaps with new cadets and DEC's from some back of beyond nation whos flag carrier just went down the ****ter. Its a race to the bottom for the airline that could easily and effeciently be one of the best airline pilot jobs around. Its like everything else in Ireland, they will sit and watch the system fail because of bloody mindedness, stupid politics and greed.
Shame!

It is far too early to assess the impact on any airline, never mind RYR on the uptick in employment prospects for the pilot industry. From several sources, it has been confirmed that hundreds of Easy Jet pilots have applied to BA. Who knows what impact this will have, when EJ have to respond with a recruitment campaign for experienced pilots. Those posting that RYR are in the clear, do not understand that we are in the early days of a piloting musical chairs, a game that might still affect the most unlikely Carriers.
let's have this discussion again in 6 months time. My bet is that MOL will already have responded, in an effort to retain his experienced staff.

16 posts to get onto Ryanair bashing outright, must be getting better.
I work for EZY and was looking forward to seeing how much attrition was taking place in another airline. PLS can we keep this thread to Cs's initial aim
Cheers
