one little more question.
could you give us your method to train RMS (running memory) VMC (visual memory) and OWT(perceptual speed)
RMS: do you remember in your head series of 3 or 4 or 5 digits..??
VMC:?? 2back ok 3back.....ok but 4 and 5 back ?? I click no (anyway if you click no all the time you get 55%/65%, so 2 and 3 back, I to my best but then..I click no!
OWT: thanks to the other digits I read but my method is 8+2=2 (and not 8+2=2 on the clock) and then I think when I've got the time
thank you because I can't get more than 25%RMS and 71%VMC OWT70%

HAMBURG - MARCH 3rd
LOL... If you can't, you probably should not go to Hamburg until you freshen up your basic aritmethic skills.
Hello gents, anyone going to Hamburg on this day? Please PM.
Still didn't pick a place to stay and arriving around noon day before. I would like a 4/5 star hotel as close as possible to the DLR test center. Appreciated if a shuttle available to/from Airport terminals and DLR as I have a close flight to get after assessment is over. Does the day end around 5 p.m. or earlier usually?
Is it just me or these tests in level 3 seem to be almost impossible to get a reasonable score? In all tests except 1 I get 90+% in LVL 2 and drop considerably on LVL 3...
I don't quite think these test are meant to be passed by everyone, myself included perhaps. It's all about what you are capable or not. To be very well rested might proove to be very hepfull as your memory depends a lot on this.
A while ago I have read over and over this thread and would like to thank all tips and advices here. Most were uselful, some were pure GOLD if you read carefully.
Moreover I will attend this assessment for the experience. What is coming afterwards I'll leave it to luck, my capabilities on that day and the German Examiners. I obviously do not mean I do not want this job!
Appreciated any late tips, suggestions, sightseeing info's, good southern European food in Hamburg, etc...
I'll share my experience after assessment taken.
Thanks and good luck to everyone elso who is still going there to undertake the tests.
P.S. - Does anyone know where do they assess you on the simulator part (B733)? And where do you go for the A319 rating if sucessfull in previous stages?
Thanks again,
-toots

Hey.
Is there anybone that has passed the DLR tests recently that has been invited for the simcheck? I passed on the 17th of January but still nothing. Read a few pages back that others had been waiting for three months.
What is said about expenses for the simcheck? The 200€ I received for doing the DLR barely covered half of my costs. Is it the same for the simcheck?
Also, feel free to PM details about the screening if you wish.

Hi,
I passed the DLR on the 14th of January.
I received an invitation approximately 1 week after the positive DLR result. My simulator screening is scheduled on the 14th of March in Frankfurt.
After attending the simulator screening you will receive the same amount of money (E191,-) as for the DLR GU. I think you should be happy to receive whatever instead of paying for the selections as most airlines let you do know...
My advise: Contact them for the screening!
Regards,
Thisisit

A little update due to popular demand:
The first FOs have started their line training now and are doing fairly well, according to local LH mainline instructors. There should be 8-10 instructors down in Milano at the moment, together with 8 mainline FOs to support the training and to have a qualified FO on board.
The mainline pilots have pretty much accepted the fact that LHI is now changing to local contracts. We don't have a problem with the new pilots anyway, but with the managment! No hard feelings against any of the new guys! In my opinion LHI is a good idea, but we will see if it works out...
All aircraft will maintain a German registration, being leased from LH. D-AKNG is now registered in the Italian AOC and there might be a second aircraft in it already, with the plan being that one is handed over every month.
Can't say anyhting about rosters or payment...
Cheers!

LHI/EN?
Hi, Í've passed the DLR as well and Í'm waiting for the SIM sessions!
A friend of mine working for Air Dolomiti told me they are about to take over operations in Milan sicne their CEO is going to run both companies...
Apparently it's not clear what's going to happen with the LHI pilots over there!?Actually it's pretty weird that they are still looking for people since it looks like the AD pilots will do the job?!
Anyone knows more about this?
Cheers

Hi guys,
Just got a quick question for all of you that have already done the DLR test stage 1.
Was just wondering what time you actually ended up finishing the test? My assessment is soon approaching and if I can get the 17:30 flight departing Hamburg it will save me a heap of cash but wasn't sure if this would be cutting it too close to the end of the test and really didn't want to be in the bizarre position of leaving mid assessment!!!!
Cheers in advance,
Boomerang

25th March!
LHI11,
I am also there on 25th March staying at Ibis.
My tip for ROT: make yourself a cube out of card and mark an 'X' on one face. On level 1, hold the cube in front of you and use this to practice until you fully understand which way the cube must move on each command. Once you have 100% on levels 1 and 2 with the cube, try level 2 without the cube. Then move onto Lev 3. This helped me fully understand the way in which the cube moves..... i now just have to be able to keep up in my head all the moves at level 3
Do you have any tips on the big multiplication & division for KRN. I thought i was pretty good at mental arithmatic until i tried the KRN....
Thanks

Air Dolomiti taking over? It's a rumor at the moment, not more. When LHI started they first wanted Air Dolomiti to run the business. Some of the pilots even went to do an Airbus typerating. So I can understand that they are eager to get into LHI again. But I personally don't think it will happen soon.
It is not yet really clear to the public why the Air Dolomiti CEO has taken over at LHI, but I guess that LH mainline was not happy with the current managment and wanted someone with thorough knowledge of the Italian market.
Training at LHI is taking place. You will be getting an Airbus rating. What else do you want?

@GreenPilots
you r asking what else do you want?
to be honest, not much...I signed a contract, and I like that contract to be bonding, it's that simple.
Instead the company does whathever they see fit, the italians pilots have a very accomodating attitude towards this kind of matters and, in the end I am already loosing money if I take seriously what is written in my labor contract.
Point is, when i was working as a FI I was earning much more. I was treated much better and, in the end my attitude was much more collaborative.
Here I just fell like a second class citizen that earns less then half of the lh pilots!!!
I mean, I have no knowledge of italian labor laws but, if I show you my contract and my payslip you see right away there is something very wrong.
I am considering to break my stupid bond (35K by the way, for 5 years), because I can't put up with this **** anymore.
It's very sad the way my italians collegues accept all this. And I am sure they could actually do something to change the status quo. You want to hear something really funny? when you fly internationally the pay you the national perdiem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(it's cheaper for them)
