Hi there,

working for the mentioned company - it depends on what you expect and what your experience is and on which aircraft (You know they bond you for 5 years - for a Dash??? ).
Overall its a pretty nice job, stable roster, a few goodies (you get tickets to your hometown for free on tyrolean flights). Expect a 5/2 roster, 2 to 6 legs a day, average 9-10 days off a month, 5 weeks of vacation, 14xsalary (FO starts with appr. 2000net / Commander after average 5 years upgrade on the dash 3500) and about 70-80h/month, average 2 days standby/month. Professional environment, good instructors, good fleet management, unique people - its fun working here.

People leave because of bigger planes, better salary, better roster (5/4 or so) and no perspectives whitin the company.

I would say, if you have no or little experience, are going to be on the fokker or rj and failed at airberlin or similar (because of the bigger plane and the shorter bondage) its a good job to start with.

Hope that helps Y4

Can only give generic info as I know a few that fly / flew for them, hope that helps nonetheless.

Rather small company, depends on what aircraft you get to fly, but they mostly fly lower traffic routes for Austrian, and actually are now branded Austrian arrows.

If you're on the Dash, usually lots of short haul rotations to Eastern Europe and intra-Austrian, if on the jets also mainline routes for OS and charters.

Not sure nowadays about time to command, most probably not thaaat long, as lots of the f/o's use them to gain TT and then move on to larger jets and/or foreign operators.

INN would be a brilliant base (looking out of the window on some snow covered peaks right now.... ), but you better like it cold. If you're VIE based not that snowy, but nice too...

..Thank you very much for thr information...

Do they have overnights? Can you please tell me where? Maybe I am so lucky to sleep at home a little bit more!

I was told either dash or Fokker starting in January, any difference from the two fleet? Even in money maybe? I know dash is really performance, no idea on Fokker...

Yannick can you tell me more about 2 fleets? would be possible to have a tipical roster by PM? ( if not do not worry, i perfectly understand.)

Do the Dash pilots fly both the 200 and the Q400? Or are they separate fleets with distinct pilot groups?

I am surprised that this chap would not know more about the company and yet he his ready to give us his current job. That doesn't sound right to me...

If you are on the Dash you fly the 300 and the Q400. You begin on the 300 and after about 6-9 months you start flying the Q400 aswell.
Pay should be the same, but life is more comfortable on the Fokker...
Overnights depend on your base, but if you are based in Vienna you usually get more than enough...
Examples on the Dash; Leipzig, Timisoara, Kosice, Nürnberg, Venice, Bologna, Florence, Geneva, Sarajevo and all the destinations within in Austria.
Fokker; Zürich, Amsterdam, Brussels, Barcelona, Oslo, Stockholm, Helsinki, Nice, Sofia, Sarajevo etc...

all these questions you asked should have been covered during their interview.
yes, I know, their interview sucks!they make you pass psycho tests and crazy sim games , but they never ask you if you have some questions?

Tyrolean doesn't do any presentation day of their company, by explaining rosters, the company,...,and what they have to offer. You don't know even on what plane they put you...simply scandalous!
In fact you just go to their test without knowing anything, and all you hope is to pass the test without knowing how bad/good the company is.

sounds to be a company of muppets with pilots who don't know what or where they are going to fly....I passed their test last year, but I feel I was just a number, and they don't really care of their pilots.

CityLine plays the same game, they send pilots to pass some psycho tests in Hamburg, and we know nothing about the company...!!!("don't talk to strangers", my mom said)

the building during the interview is empty, like abandoned, and there is no real way to talk to existing tyrolean pilots. And don't ask any open questions, they will look at you like if they want your death!(you are not requested to ask question anyway, this is not included in the whole selection procedure). After their tests, you go home, and you still know nothing about them.

do you have a contract yet? and what say your contract?

Hello,

Just about to sent the application form.

Does anyone know if they bond me when you are already type rated? I am current on the Q400 and have a bit Q300 experience.

Any good tips to prepare for the technical en psychometeric tests.

Many Thanks
