I see no problem with cabin crew asking very valid questions about an event that affects their lives, here on a pilot forum. Certainly more relevant than passengers worrying about their soggy sandwiches!!

They may get answers here - keep asking I say.

Fair enough, but I guess they are more likely to get an answer from other CC than Flight Crew, or maybe not!!

There are other options, such as the "Big Brother Forum" on the MyGB website,.......

Settle down folks. EZY is always short of SCCM's at LGW anyway so it won't be a problem.

Talking EZY private forum..about time..!!

Actually is it not time that easyJet had it's own private forum.

Perhaps the inclusion of GB would have to wait till the deal is ratified but what about an easyjet Forum asap....?

I would also like to say that I hope the GB guys who come over will be happy in the land of Orange..

Britflyer,
We used to have a private forum but it was decided because of the Balpa forum to do away with it.

Cokeman..big deal, so LGW is short of FA's too hence flying Seniors together.
Easyjet is not overcrewed with SCCM's. It's amazing how taking a few flying lines out here and there can distort peoples ideas. Relunctance to spend any pennies nightstopping crews too will ensure that while one base has it's feet up, another is fleeced.

It's worth remembering that when there are seniors flying together, there's often one or two "uprankers". That's not to say there hasn't been quite a few flights recently operating with 3-4 permanent seniors.

There's quite a number of uprankers in LGW at the moment. We may not be overcrewed with SCCMs, but could we possibly have more "SCCM-qualified" crew than we really need? We do seem to be a bit short of FAs at the moment, and I understand LTN/STN crew are filling the gaps where possible at the moment, and training courses with new LGW recruits are starting this month, so should have new FAs coming online around December/January.

It will be interesting to see how the GB acquisition affects SCCM promotion opportunities for current crew considering many GB Assistant Pursers will bbe "in the pool" looking for promotion.

HZ... the Stockley Close sim centre is a bmi facility, although operated for them by GCAT. It should not be affected in any way by this deal.

Not everyone in EZY is a member of BALPA (doesn't include me, BTW). Perhaps there should be an EZY forum here. Mods?

easyJet Private Forum...?

More to the point...I know PPRUNE is aimed at pilots but Ops and C/C are represented on here with public groups so a private group would I'm sure also be used by us all....?

Well I used to moderate the easyJet, and it just literally fell out of use. Very few posts meant it wasnt worth the bandwidth/server space. I guess if enough people showed interest now, we might be able to convince Danny to resurrect it. Just more 'votes' needed.

Definitely a good idea, sent a message in about it a week or two ago and got no reply, guess everyone's quite busy.

Deep in the bowels of Fortress PPRuNe a meeting of Mods is taking place to discuss an EZY Private Forum with access by the GB folk. It may or may not happen.

We'll take it as read that it would be popular enough given the size of the company.

I would have thought that as the pilots in GB have a large BALPA following, they could come straight onto the easyjet BALPA forums, which would save on Danny's bandwidth/server space etc.

Simple answer to thick pax question please!

If one has booked thru' BA for a GB Airways flight to be taken place after Easy Jet have taken over the said carrier, yet BA decide to keep the route for themselves - lets just say LGW-GIB, does it mean that BA will honour one's initial reservation - in other words just simply transfer booking from GB Airways to BA flight - or would one be under Easy Jet - who possibly could compete with BA on said route - or worse just drop it?

Further, are all GB Airways slots at LGW part of the take over deal with Easy?. Allowing Easy therefore to decide what they want to do with the slots "purchased".

Deal includes all LGW slots, all flights become Easy flights so you have to get a refund for any flight after 31 March. If you still want a LGW - AGP with BA post 31 March you have to get a refund and rebook when ba.com gets sorted (after the approval i guess in a few weeks time!).
BA has chosen its 'GB' routes interestingly, AGP and FAO will do ok but am not so sure about PMI, GIB and TUN.
Rumour has it that BA have a dodgy deal with Easy to take the 321's off them in a few months and maybe the 320's when the 'new GB' has proven that they dont work with the Easy model!
Will be an interesting 12 months but all at GB looking forward to it as long as a few 'simplish' T's and C's issues are resolved.
Quite a few of us interested to see what happens in MAN. We are hoping that Easy operates some more traditional routes next summer as without the handicap of the BA collar they should be able to make a few quid on the Easy standard fare of AGP, FAO PMI et al. Hopefully once the LPL issue is sorted MAN will become a major base for Easy and some of the hundred and fifty 319's on the delivery schedule will be based there.

The future is bright when you take the sunglasses off

Thanks for that. We always have pax upfront in club on the GB 320 to/from Gib, and to be honest loads are usually pretty good - often full. Just dont want EZY mucking it all up....especially if they were only operator and thus lose the international connectivity through LGW. Wish it was LHR though...so much easier. Ho hum.
