DHL Airways FTL
Does anyone have any info on the FTL scheme for the new DHL EMA Operation. The rest of us night freighters are stuck with the ridiculous CAP371 rules, but I can't see an organisation as big as DHL allowing the CAA to impose this on them, when they have aircraft operating from several other European countries under far less restrictive conditions.
Or will this be another example of our hapless regulator selling more British jobs overseas.
Thank heavens for the JAR level playing field. All regulators are equal, only some are more equal than others.

SBA can you explain why an exemption benefits the company, I can imagine? What does it do for the pilots, that I can also inagine? I am prime meat having just been made redundant as a 757 driver from a UK airline. Want to know what I am letting myself in for!

Current UK FTLs allow 3 continuous nights, followed by 24 hrs off, then one more night in total of 7 days from start of duty. An exemption could, for example, be 5 nights continuous duty, depending on rest requirements and time before resuming roster for next 5 night duty period. Very much dependant on CAA, company & (I think) crew willingness to adopt such an exemption.
