SP, the numbers below are 737 700 ac operating from their respective bases for Wed 4 July 07. Numbers do vary according to season/servicing requirements.

LTN 16
NCL 7
BFS 5

Thanks guys, so based solely on the hull numbers it would make sense for Luton to keep the 737 through 09 and convert the other bases first.

There is definitely something fishy going on if you look at the way the ongoing pay negotiations are conducted, but I would doubt that EZY would buy a UK based company.

The real expansion is in continental Europe, not in the saturated UK market, so it would make more sense for EZY to buy a company like Vueling, Wizz, Air One or Sterling, all of which are companies in expanding and/or new markets. Furthermore, it would create a wonderful opportunity for the micromanagers/beancounters in Hangar 69 to play out different pilot groups against each other, hence the current stalling strategy towards the pay talks.

Apparently Ryanair is interested in Air Berlin, so who knows, perhaps we are at a dawn of a big take-over era in the European LoCo industry...

you are probably right, Vueling could be interesting to buy as well, (and for sure Vueling pilots would be more than HAPPY to become easy pilots ).

Easy application

Can any of you guys give me some guidance on applying for Easyjet.
I'm currently a Military multi pilot and am looking to join Easyjet in about a years time. I don't have a licence at the moment but I'm projecting completing it about April next year.
Is there any other way (such as on the BA web app) that I can apply to Easyjet in anticipation of completing my licence, the current on-line app wont let you progress unless you hold a current ATPL.

Understand that it might not be everyones cup of tea Doug but it certainly beats what I'm doing now and the lifestyle would suit my future aspirations.

Hi, MATTDOG,

back from long 4 sector day and day 4 of early flights! Therefore short answer.

I am not as consequent as DOUG th HEAD, but consider it carefully. At the time being, the emotions in the EZY pilot community are slapping a little high.

Unfortunately the EZY web page is the only way to go. Maybe if you know one close to management pilots/staff in Luton, you may be able to circumnavigate the usual way.

Devil Grumpy old men !!!

Don't listen to guys like Dough or likeminded that might should consider retirement in the near future (no offence )!!

I just came back from a 4 sector day as well, but am still feeling both human and happy.... if that is because I am in a good physical shape, goes to bed in due time the night before the earlies or just happy for a good job, - I don't know .

YES, there are issues in EZY that is far from perfect, and YES we might have to go on strike to get the money we are worth, BUT there are also a lot of good things in EZY, and once the salary and pension issue is sorted there is only minor things left compared with most other airlines.

Personally I am one of those willing to strike to get our demands through if we have to go down that path, but becides that, then I have some great collegues, I fly nice new and safe equipment, I can see my days off from now till the end of march 2008, I can change my hollidays almost as I wish, my roster rarely changes, I have a saying in my carreer path and most important: I HAVE A LIFE, both inside and outside aviation!!!!

And if I decide to leave the ship in a couple of years, then I have still progressed my carreer far more than I could have done most other places, simply due to the structure and expansionrate in the company.
Positive people gives positive collegues, so guess Dough and I am from different bases as most of those I work with is quit happy with the general conditions

Just my penny.

Mattdog,
Up and Down Operator is right, ignore everything I've said, switch off your brain and....become an "up and down operator" just like him.
Loads of fun and even bigger loads of money and we hardly work at all. Every day at work is like a day off really.

Here's something I wrote on the EZY strike thread:

Yeah, and he/she also gets a free heart attack by the age of 50 if one continues the 'healthy' lifestyle that we live.

Many psychologists agree that people get what they feel that they are worth. That's how a beggar is happy with £1,- and that's why many rich people (rightly or wrongly) feel they are worth the mega bucks that they earn.

This also explains why many people who win the lottery will again lose the money they won, simply because their mindset is not in sync with the sudden financial wealth.

I find it sad to see that some people in EZY obviously do not feel worthy of a good salary in return for the hard work we do every day, while management obviously do feel worthy of receiving huge bonuses/share option schemes for the mess they make.

Thanks for the info, i guess I'll have to wait until next year to apply closer to my out date.
At the end of the day guys, each company has it's merits and each has it's own problems. It all comes down to personal preferences and choices of lifestyle, we're all flying together, chill.

True, I'm just saying not to underestimate what low cost flying (the privilege or "being home every night and knowing whether you're working or not on 23-06-2014") does to your health, social and family life in the long term.
