It's a great shame to hear how things are going at GB. I'm ex-GB and now working for Sir Dickie, but I have very happy memories of my time at GB. I really do hope that the current woes are resolved to the satisfaction of all my old friends and colleagues at, what was, a great little company.

If this is a strile by GB pilots over a bloody car park then you might just chuck it all in and go back to school cos you're behaving just like a bunch of kids...if its real intentions is to get shot of its management then why don't you say so and deal with it? as an earlier posting had said ..if the press get hold of (as they have already) they will just rip you apart,
remember the press can make or break an airline or any other business / person etc etc

The Bald Eagle,
best you do your homework sunshine as it's not just a 'strike over a bloody carpark' at all.
You need to get your facts straight before you go gobbing off.
It a general decline of T&C's over many years of which the car park (involving 45mins extra commuting a day - non remunerated) is but one issue. The only people who know the full story are those at GB who are voting right now.
We don't need uneducated crap like your post... and as for saying 'the press can make or break an airline......' dude, get checked in. It's rubbish, uninformed rubbish.

GB management are briefing the media with this: "The issue is simply car parking. There are not enough car parking spaces at the head office for all staff. "The move to Jubilee House will give ample parking space for all flying staff in the airport car park."

The pilot workforce at GB are in the middle of very difficult times. They are not happy with the situation they find themselves in, but nevertheless they have the courage to stand up for their ever decreasing standard of lifestyle. To all that post on this subject please don’t be so naive as to think that this is "just about a bloody car park". I know this is a rumour website, but please take at least the minimum of effort to find out what is really happening before making contentious posts.
Whilst the company is busy briefing the media that this is about car parking, the Managing Director has already acknowledged to a pilot meeting that he appreciates there is more to it. Anyone who knows anything about industrial relations will tell you that there are always a number of issues standing behind the headline issue.
Pilots at GB Airways are a very professional bunch that have been forced down this industrial road by a management style that does not understand the benefits of consulting the workforce over fundamental changes. GB pilots understand the requirement for change in an ever competitive industry, all we ask is that we are included in the decision making process that affects our lives.

GB Issues
GB's Management have had every opportunity for dialogue with their Crew Council over the past months. Ignoring their CC is ignoring the concerns of their crew.
This management team have very low standards of professionalism and integrity which they consistently fail to acheive.
GB have established written agreements which are consistently violated. GB's rostering is the worst it has ever been and relies heavily on the good will of crew when operating to the range of the Airbus and to the max of CAP 371 limits. - not to mention the new RM 5!!!! The rosters GB crew fly are the most fatiguing that could be constructed within the bounds of the CAA FTL. The CAA refer to CAP 371 as a "guide to best practice" not limits to be aimed for.
Companies that roster to the limit and that consistently put the fatigue call on individual crew members are reckless.
And the icing on the cake. KH saying "you'll have to all work harder", Ok you Silver topped midget - come and fly the jumpseat for 30 days on my next summer season roster, then you can ki$$ my entire @r$$e. Clueless!
Balloting for action is a big deal, and not easy to enter into. Do you honostly think pilots would follow a union line if it was constructed out of thin air over a car park issue. As with the BA Cabin crew ballot. The issue that the fight was over came on the back of a long list of degraded lifestyle points.
GB deserve everything they get now. I hope Excel enjoy their new chief pilot. ...Jumping ship after being part of the team getting us into this state of play, good timing Nobby!!!! - that'll look good on a CV.

Sounds like a resounding "YES" vote is about to be announced. If I were JG I'd be extremely worried and start sorting out the gung ho management who are about to cost him a fortune.
Already travel agents have cancelled bookings over the Easter period.
GB's dirty tricks campaign in the press about this is about to backfire on them and has only made the Pilot's more determined.

Once again shocking tactics from GB Airways management. Their "Welcome to Jubilee House" pack ruthlessly informs pilots and cabin crew that their passes will be be invalid for entry to the Beehive from March 14th.
Shouldn't be too much of a hassle for the pilots as they'll all be out on strike soon.
GB are about to get what they rightly deserve.

Any preliminary indications on how the ballot will go?
Heard you boys may be spared a strike as there is a decent offer on the table. At last management see that an unhappy workforce is unhealthy and concessions need to be made on BOTH sides.
Also heard a rumour from my mates in the City, that KH was up there last week trying to drum up financial support, further adding fuel to the fire me thinks.
Anyhoo, feel free to join me in orange, stable roster and a payrise awaits!!

Hey Bean Flicker
You're a genius! How did you guess (know) what was going on?
Ballot result was 92% in favour of strike action. But as you said, sounds like management have caved in.
Let us wait and see

Please remove this and the above post. The information contained in it was given out with a request that it be kept "in house" until BALPA has briefed the press. There will be a positive end to this sorry story and it is NOT BALPA's intention to harm forward bookings.

As far as Im aware, pprune is not a censoring agent........
the knowledge I had came from a caterer and a Uni friend in the city (not someone in GB letting the cat out the bag).
If you dont want to harm forward bookings, dont vote to go on strike!!

Very vocal isn't he/she!
Makes you wonder exactly who they work for, as they are also very vocal over on the Flybe/Bacon thread, with the indication that he/she actually works for Bacon. In which case how come he/she is privy to insider info on GB? As GB and Bacon are two completely separate entities hmm:
