They say if you give a million monkeys a typewriter each and infinite time eventually they'll write the works of Shakespeare. If you give spaceman infinite time he'll probably be right about a big announcement. I suppose they have to make one eventually.

Damage limitation measure

Latest news is that due to the IR & PR issues in the regions with the sale of BA Connect and the transfer of groundstaff to third party handling agents, the proposed 1st March announcement regarding franchise operators & operations has been delayed. The new expected date for an announcemant is the 28th April.

aspaceman,I've been in this business way too long for big anouncements! The only big anouncement yopu will ever hear is a big anouncement of a big anouncement, most real big anouncements come completely out of the blue and are use under the headline "XXXXX Airline has gone bust thousands stranded" shortly followed by a phone call from the Hotel your staying in's reception asking yyou to vacate your room as your company is bust!

Cynical me? most definatley!

(ask any ex Laker,Air Europe,Dan Air,Orion plus many others )

aspaceman - I think that apology is due now that the 'big announcement' has not occured as promised. I too have contacts in GB and they have told me that there never was to be an announcement! So the owners tell them.
Although that is my good friends telling me that - I would never state that is gospel as you seem to have been doing with all your statements. Now is the time for you to climb down from your high horse - stop telling everyone to be 'patient' in an arrogant bordering condescending know it all way and accept you were wrong!!!!

From the BA Business plan

Does BP10 include a future for London Gatwick?
Due to the expiry of leases on a number of aircraft at the airport, re-investment decisions regarding shorthaul fleet at Gatwick will be required in year one of BP10.

Mmmmm! is that a yes or a no?
