Hi,
May I ask you how long you waited to be called for this interview? I re-applied 2 weeks ago but heard nothing yet except the standard email. I've got 1400h TT and 1100h medium jet.
Do you think that the 3 bases you choose when you apply have an impact on the fact they will call you or not?
Thanks for your help
Good luck for the interview
Regards

EasyJet Interview

SKY's4ME

You should receive an email with a questionnaire. It is 260 questions all true/false. All I can say is don't think too much what you think they want you to answer, be honest or you will be caught out!!

You will be given two group excises, both are good fun! Remember it’s not what result you get to, its how you get to it!! Try to bring your points across and listen to what others have to say. Don’t try to be something you are not. When looking at you working in the group, I would imagine it will be held up against your “personality” from the psychometric questionnaire. Same goes for your personal interview. This would make it easy to spot a “fake” if you know what I mean.

I can not stress enough be yourself and be honest in what you say and what you do.

The technical questionnaire is fairly straight forward 40 questions in 30 min. I suggest you read up on speeds (V1,Vr, Vmcg, Vmca) and how they are related. Also read up on how a swept wing works, Mach number, pressure centre. There was one or two questions regarding holding patterns, nothing you shouldn't already know….

Try to relax and enjoy the day…

Good luck to all.

Easyjet follow up

After my previous reply I have received a couple of “Private messages”. PLEASE if you have any questions you are most likely not the only one. Others may be interested in your question and maybe even in my answer!
I do not give any “secrets” away anyway, so can we PLEASE KEEP IT PUBLIC?
Thanks a lot.
To answer your questions:
“I was wondering if you could be so kind and tell me about the phsycometric test and the personal interview for easyjet”
Well as I have said before, the test is sent to you as and email. You start out by entering your name, age, gender etc. After that there are 260 questions ( statements really). You click true (if the statement is…. True) or false if its not. A statement could be “When I am driving, I never go over the speed limit” or “I think I would like to work in a flower shop”. Don’t ask, but I am sure there IS a meaning!!
The personal interview is really in two parts one is about you as a person, like “How do keep up to date on current affairs?” or “When and how did you get people to do more than expected of them?” remember they know you pretty well already from your psychometric test and from watching you working in your group. The other half is really a follow up on you tech quiz. Questions like, “explain Vmcg?”, “Why swept wing?”, “How long is a METAR valid?” not that hard… if you know the answers. Again as you prepare for the tech quiz I am sure you will come across the answers for the interview.
“Are they still using the evacuate a village scenario…” – Yes
“…setting together letters into words with tubing in the group exercise?” – No, the second test is to solve a given task using tubes, robe, little wheels and what ever else is in the big “goody bag”
Regarding the SIM:
Well, once again you will be sent a sim profile by email for the 737-300 or 737-700 (NG) also a full briefing with the relevant number (i.e. power settings and pitch) We had to fly 3 departures from Luton (twice the same and then one from the opposite runway). We both had a different one! Airwork: Between us we did speed reduction and high bank turn. We did not do any holdings or approaches, but nothing promised!! You will be given a very good briefing on the day so pay attention.
“Did you get the base you wanted?” Yes.
“Did you end up getting a job?” - Yes on Airbus!!
That’s it.

Sounds like the same waste of time/effort/money/resources as happens still at BA, Britann.oops, Thompson and Emirates.

Got the licence? Rating? Experience? Well then ,get in the sim, fly the profile and then tell me a joke. By then I'll know if I want you operating for my outfit.

Even Ryanair prioritise good handling and CRM.

Easy seem to be wasting money on HR and psycho-babble.

By the way, from my part, no sour grapes, before someone comes back with that.

I see this is your first post, so before you get bombarded with people chastising you for not using the search function - I'll tell you nicely that this subject has been covered before in some detail on other threads, so you should find what you're looking for by logging in and searching for similarly titled threads.

AT least two thirds of the Tech questions were, and proberly still are, lifted straight out of the "Preparing for your Cathay Pacific Interview" book , which is available from all good book shops and some rubbish ones to

ezy interview

i'm not sure how when searching for interview at ezy you only came up with "cabin crew" cos theres TONNES OF IT.

but previos post about cathay book is quite correct but the bible has to be ACE the technical pilot interview......read it............study it and learn it.

It will put you in a comfortable position for the aural tech interview with question such as what happens to v1 and vmc on a contaminated runway..... explain the mechanics of a swept wing and mcrit.

Good luck

Can I add some questions, rather than start a new thread please?? I am an ex-mil helicopter pilot, 5000 hrs+, currently in police aviation. I have an unfrozen ATPL (A) but my IR ran out over a year ago.
Does an IR need to be current before Easy will offer an interview? Does it need to be current to be offered employment?
The reason I ask is that I am prepared to renew, but if I get turned down, I probably will stick with helicopters, so renewal would be a waste. Not really interested in any other outfit at the moment.

You will get an IR renewal with your type rating, but only valid on the A319 or 733/737 whichever you get rated on.

As far as I know you dont need one, just an ATPL or fATPL. You will be simmed though in Luton on the 733/737. As far as I know not too taxing but you will need an instrument scan which I am sure you have still got!

easyJet Interview Guide

Came across the "easyJet Interview Guide" on www.pilotwarehouse.co.uk as I was buying something else.
Looks to be on similar lines to the Cathay guide but specific to easy.
Might be worth a pop for those of you with applications pending.

Very interesting ! ...well found fred,. I wonder who wrote it, surely not captains X,Y and Z again. They do get around! On a seperate note can anyone recommend a system/aircraft study guide for the A319/320 ? Something along the lines of the Bill Bulfer guide to the 737 series...

Fred, they're avin a Larff ain't they?

Most people I know already have the Ace the Tech Pilot Interview, Handling the Big Jets and the Capt's X,Y & Z Cathay Book.

Why would you part with £62 just to get the "Easy Interview Questions" part of the package?

What's the problem? You don't have to buy the whole package- you can just pay 18 Pounds for the Easy Interview guide if that's all you want. I would suggest one could economise and drop the 'Ace the Tech Interview' book, in my view so appallingly full of errors I stopped reading it, and possibly more of a hindrance than a help.

All these years....has anybody beaten DP Davies' 'Handling the Big Jets'? Wonderful. Pray 2 minutes silence.
