tax agreements
Found out that the 183 days rule does not apply for pilots and seamen in the Netherlands/S-korea tax deal ("tractatenblad")
This means you have to de-register ( uitschrijven) in Holland.
You will lose all social securities by doing this. (ww, volkverzekeringen etc.)
Also you will lose 2 % of AOW per year you are not registered in Holland.
Count also the pension you have to pay now yourself, and no more tax reduction on mortgage and the 13 K does not seem that much anymore..
kind regards

Short arms and deep pockets your authorities, they always find a way to get your money eh ? even if they have to do it by getting you to convince yourself to pay. Can't be too careful wish the money in the Netherlands.

For all Dutch Pilots who contemplate the KAL deal, hereby the text from the tax agreement between The Netherlands and the Rep. of Korea ( note paragraph 3) :

B787+Guy`s move
KAL has ten B787 on order and will get the first ones in 2011 you can find such information as well on the Boeing website.
KAL moved some Guy`s in the past from A360 to B744, from MD11 to B744, from B747 to B744 and B777, from B737 to B744 and only one to B777. There is no plan to move Guy`s from any Airplane in the near future as KAL still hires on all Types and all F/O`s are told they will not get any upgrade. On the other side who knows what is down the road in 4 or 5 years?? Maybe the whole system is changing then as they need more Pilots for the expansion and if Korea as a Country is not "producing" enough they have to consider that as well. As long as they get enough from outside for free why should they invest inside then??
All contracts are 5 years only and just recently the benefits for ExPat F/O`s where reduced and the Guy`s been told more or less: Take it or leave it......

777 to 787 is a 3 day course apparently , I understand Alteon are even looking at a Fixed base simulator only conversion for Boeing from the 777. So I guess they will be interested in 777 applicants in the future , but again one never knows.

Don't know about the other agencies but if you get the interview CCL provide (at least on 737 & I assume other types ? ) full sim profile & a copy of the proforma used by examiner, along with some recent "sample" interview Q's provided by recent candidates. If your agency are not proposing a similar level of support maybe you should ask yourself if you backed the right horse ?

PARC do Asiana not KAL.
If you do a search on here you will find more
for CCL than the others.
From my dealings with them they seemed very responsive and professional, & my not joining finally is not of their making.

Anyone currently on the 330 (Fo) ?
I have received a contract summary from one of the agencies and the pay consists of basic pay, per diem and overtime pay. Can anyone shed some light on how much the total pay for a normal month accumulates to?
Thanks.

TAX
Would I be right in saying that the CCL Website figures are Korean tax paid? If so, being a UK resident would you need to pay any UK tax at all? What is the significance of being paid offshore then?
Just asking as I honestly don't know!!! (Sorry if it sounds dumb.)

From: KGRB, but on the road about 1/2 the time.
Hi!
It sounds fantastic, especially compared to a job, say, where you'll get less pay, and you'll go to Kenya and fly for 6 months, and then you get to go home and be off for 1 month of unpaid vacation, then back for 6 months more flying.
