What happened LeadingEdge? Weren´t you invited back in 2003?

Who knows, maybe this time around EZY will be desperate enough to hire such a superior Swiss aviator like yourself!

No.I by that time I was a golden hands skilled aviator battling an ATR around some thunderstorms?

I certainly hope not! This is one of the most contraversial issues within easyJet that has rightly been one of the root causes of great resentment within the company. It is very simple - as long as we have suitably qualified FOs to fill command vacancies we should not take DECs. Our union has been making representations to our management on this issue and there are at last signs that their voice is being heard.

If the looming industrial action actually takes place, there will be some heads rolling for allowing the dispute to go that far when it did not need to. This will be seen to be one of the key issues that led to the enormous loss of confidence in management that has occurred.

Probably the worst thing you can do to the morale is have DEC.
led to the enormous loss of confidence in management
We had it happen here even though our contract forbade it. The mechanism was so stunningly simple that I think it warrants a note. A certain charter airline was about to go under and a lot of their fully qualified Captains applied to our glorius airline....Cheesy A, under one condition. They would go left seat only. The prospect of saving thousands on type ratings caused permanent erections in our management. (Can I say they stood up and took notice ? ) So, they hired these guys as FO's and immediately gave them a leave of absence. This placed them on the seniority list at the bottom. Lo and behold, three months down the road, the coveted selection process starts.....but wait a minute, seems that no one meets the criteria EXCEPT these new hires who have conveniently showed up on the seniority list without anyone knowing.........and I forgot to mention that they were hired on the spot without any 'selection process' which is standard procedure for new hires.

This would explain why LE is a little.....well...ahem... touchy......the company wants loyalty, showers everyone with propaganda in their monthly 'employee newsletter' and then completely screws us over in a flash. I was one of the ones in the group that LE was in. Took command on the ATR because the company assured me that there was no other way, everyone had to go through this and bada-bing bada-bang, spent years on the type before clawing my way back to the 737. The plane type is irrelevant, the scheduling and the financial rewards are markedly different on each type.

...and we should be happy we made it back to the jet, shouldn't we click...the door closed behind us with a loud noise...well we will see what happens next...rumours aren't good about the financial situation the company is in now...

But to clarify,EZY never mentioned something about DEC in their email they sent to me,and I never applied as a DEC there...looking for a RHS position, that is...

cheers and merry christmas

Thanks for that click, absolutely correct. Worst thing is that these ex charter pilots walk around our crew rooms with their heads way up high. Dead legged (sp) with one guy the other day. Complete BABOON. Someone needs to give em a bit of "carry the bag" therapy..... Any ideas boys.

L.E.

Just to get back to you about my so called AC interview... Haven't had one yet pal. I'm in the so called holding pool too. Whatever that piece of verbal diarrhea means.

I know you are in the holding pool for Air Conditioning..ya told me that, didn't ya.
Well, finally it is going to work out for us one day...seems we have been here too long, haven't we..
Some of those guys that joined and have seniority 999 but are in fact check airmen(DE) seem to be allright, some are not(guess who)..well guess that is just life....but don't forget, some wise guy once said "..and there is always waiting and seeing"...
cheers and Merry christmas(which I will spend on a lovely all nighter to TLV).

Angel

That great every one made up i'm feeling warm and fuzzy, how about a group hug. Just my two cents on the Direct entry guys we all got bent over where I work, like Checkster pointed out even direct entry to check airmen, thats PURE GARBAGE!!!! The only way to fight back for Checkster is dont EVER take a @#$% like that on your jump seat EVER, there will come a day when he needs your help and paybacks are a mother......... Then sit back relax and tell him to get his fat face out of your plane!!!!! Good luck to the Orange folks, don't bend over!!!!! I know been there it don't feel good!!! Bratko
