AAI gets a raise!!!
Just got the email.
Immediatly (as of June 1) $50 a day perdiem and $5 a day contract increase, as well as 1.5% cost of living increase!!!

is the per diem of 50 USD only gonna be paid on layover or for each work day at base.
what about overtime any increase to that or is it still 70 USD for FO/FE and 100 USD for Captains.

There is a raise to overtime time too.
Whatever your day rate ie..200 x 30 days a month divided by 75.
Is now $80 an hr where it used to be $70.
For me it equates to about $9000 USD more a year.

For the "average" contract F/O it could mean an extra $1700 in the bank each month. About a 30% increase to current pay. Not a bad raise, but I'm sure the very vocal group of sacked AAI pilots here on the board will bash it anyway.

I am vocal as you put and I think I have the right be. Don't hear much from the management on these forums, do we. If I was in, or were, in a position of authority and therefore responsibility (the two go hand in hand) and being critised on these or other public forums I would at least try and put up some sort of defence. Wouldn't anyone worth their salt?
Yes I was fired as I had the balls to stand up to the so-called management at the time of my 12 months with AAI. Well they stopped my pay. They didn't have the stomach to actually tell me to my face or communicate with me in any way. All I wanted was honesty, which I value most of all and something that was sadly lacking.
Any company worth a damn, normally promotes its’ best people to positions of management, especially those that deal directly with employees. Man management and people skills (or the lack of it) come to mind. I had no respect for them whatsoever. If they were the “pick of the bunch” then what on earth were the rest like?? Trying to answer that question really scared me.
They paid me for 12 months and my training but they got no return for their, shall we call it “outlay” all because of their inability to communicate with any degree of honesty. I am aware that my pay, such as it was, and my training is very small in AAI’s overall costs. However if it was my company and employees just walked off without any return on “investment” I would not be very happy and would want to know why. AAI make a big issue on their website about a so called grievance policy. Well that’s BS take it from me. Maybe they just don’t care, which raises another issue. If the company can waste money on me and others that walk off the job, then they are surely in a position to give you a much larger pay rise than they have offered.

There are different contracts:
The new F/O rate for those who had a 747 type rating when they were hired is $230 per day.
I'm not sure of the new rate for those F/Os that were hired without the type. I think it's around $200-205 per day now.
I would suggest a call or email to one of the contract companies (Direct or Airborne) to confirm the new contract rates for those interested in flying for AAI.

So, in an average month, how many 'days' pay does one earn?
I guess it depends on your personal situation and where you are based. If you live in your base city and make yourself available every day of the month, you'll be paid for every day of the month, even "off" days. I have never heard of anyone being forced into a "no pay" status if they made themselves available to fly.

Crews get paid for EVERYDAY they are out on contract. Whether you are on a day off, sick, flying , travelling, or hung over..you're still getting paid. They do not pay you when THEY fly you home at their expense on vacation.
Typically most guys will for 4-6 weeks and go home for a couple. It varies.
RE:B747-400 Capts. Not sure I fly the Classic. I think they make around $350 USD a day so that is $10,500 on a 30 day month + the $1500 perdeim. $12,000. That's completly tax free paid offshore.

Same as before, you were paid the daily rate from the time you left your home until you returned.
Most cases 1 day travel time per leg.
While on base (away from your home) you got the daily rate even if you were not flying.
I think I am correct AAI guy can correct me if I am wrong.
Sounds like you guys have a good contract once again.
Much better than those of us in the Majik Kingdom.
