1, Look on the website for all the route info, NB Carribean is 747 only at the mo.
2, Average about 4 most from 3 to 5 days although Sydney is 9
3, Min 10 days off, usually about 14-16 not counting days when you leave late or arrive early
4, Basic £42k, plus £16.66 per block hour -contracted to 750p.a. so thats 12.5k plus subsistance allowance down route-usually paid in local currency cash-about £5k p.a.
5, Bids in by 18th of the month, roster out by 15th of the following month (often late), can bid for 2 trips, one trip and 3 days off or 6 days off. Rotating bid system so FNGs have a good chance every 3rd month.
6, Money purchase, Company will put in 15% if you put in >6%, less if <6%.
7, LHR for all A340 guys-what 330s?
8, I like it- and people seldom leave!!

Starting pay for a VS FO from January 2007 is £45,739. Profit-related additional pay, paid per flying hour, will add around £13,000 assuming the 750 hours contracted are flown This figure can go down as well as up! Pension contributions are paid on the total. Downroute subsistence allowances add approximately £5-600 per month tax-free. The effects of tax on the salary and additional figures are too individual to be generalised sensibly, especially if you are a commuter from another country.

Scroggs, if one signs on to work 850hrs (thats still an option right? or have i been misled?) how much extra is that? Just 16.66 X 100? or more?
That said, as far as I am aware the decision to apply to work more (or less) than the contracted 750 hours must be made before the start of the rostering year (July-June). What the remuneration is, I have no idea. If you get in to the airline, you'll have plenty of time to study the various pay agreements and protocols during your training and probationary phases.

However, I would anticipate that those currently in the hold pool will remain there, and will be called forward in due course. All the A346 deliveries scheduled for next year are additional to the fleet (no aeroplanes are scheduled to retire) and will require around 8-9 crews per aircraft. The original schedule called for 6 deliveries, If this is slowed to 4, say, we'll still need around 70 new pilots. As some of the A346 commanders will come from the B744 fleet, those 70 will probably include a few new guys for that fleet.
