Ground Crew - Average is your part of the world?

Hi all,

I look at a computer screen all day. I want to move into aviation, currently have a PPL, but would like to move into aviation as a load master or something along those lines. It will enable me to look see breathe aeoplanes while getting a commercial and instructors rating.

So what salaries can I expect (in your area)? Any Ideas?

It depends on what you actually do on the ground, and I don't know the saleries of dispatchers or the like, but passenger services is ~£10K.

if you want to fly ,take flying lessons and see what it is like.flying needs lots of cash and dedication.
if you want to work on the ground you have to decide what area of the airline business suits you.
loadmasters are only found on cargo aircraft and getting in is very hard as not many cargo airlines about these days.
how about crewing ,ticketing ,operations,engineering,and a hoast of other jobs that make an airline operate.
read a few books on airlines and their operations to get a fair idea where you will fit in regards your skills and qualifications.

don't bother mate, take flying lessons

dispatchers pay is poor, and when you get your pilots licence you can make the dispatcher life a misery, like most other pilots in the world.

Not fair cwllpl. Us dispatchers are the light and joy of all our airplane drivers and besides how would they find their way home each night without us

On top of which the pay where I am is not bad at all - at least it keeps me in beer and ciggies.
