Question Speed Control - Dubai, what can('t) U fly

This is an unofficial request for input from the drivers. . .We (ATC) sometimes need to restrict, increase or pin your speed on the APP. Now it’s your chance to tell us what you would like to be pinned at, restricted below/above. . .Specific comments about screaming down the ILS @ 180kts to 6d, 160 to 4d, etc please. What a/c you fly is important and why you like that speed.. .Thanx

As you know, EK are limited to 250kts below 5000. So if we could keep somewhere between 300 and 320 to 5000, it would be good for the B777. Obviously if its bumpy we need to bring the speed back earlier to avoid filling the cabin with spew.. .The B777 has no problem with 180 to 6 and 160 to 4, most of the time. But there are occasions a huge tail wind is encountered down to 500' or so, when this is the case a slower speed would be nice.. .These are my opinions only and and I am sure you will get a lot of different answers to your question. Thanks for trying to help.. .Don

On a more important note, any chance you can speed up the ATIS? Its takes forever, and lasts a lot longer than my attention span. This would be a great help, as the preflight coffee gets cold listening to it at the moment.

donpiz...Ref the ATIS…we r trying to limit it as much we can. Due to the ongoing construction and WIP on the airport the availability of RWYs, TWYs & Pbay are literally changing on a daily basis and we try to put the important ones on the ATIS to try to keep surprises to a minimum. We also try to get a much of the info published in NOTAMs & AIP, but even that takes time. We’re out of ideas… you have any suggestions?

Ref speed…how close to landing (track miles) can you keep 210kts? . .How many miles does it take you to reduce from 280 to 250 and from 250 to 210kts. (heavy and light)? . .What is min clean on the 777 (heavy and light)?
