Post B737-300 VOR/LOC

Hi There!
On the B737 manual vol.! under the Supplementary Procedures we're advised not to use VOR/LOC for VOR approaches when the VOR station elavation is 5000 ft. MSL or higher.

Can anyone tell me why? Any response appreciated.Thanks.

Unhappy

This is probably on account of the increased radius of turn at higher altitudes, which will cause problems for the asymptotic curve algorythms in the FD/autopilot software. I've a feeling the 'bus probably ought to do things by ground track, but the Boeing certainly won't.
