B737-300 VOR/LOC
Hi There!
On the B737 manual vol.! under the Supplementary Procedures we're advised not to use VOR/LOC for VOR approaches when the VOR station elavation is 5000 ft. MSL or higher. Can anyone tell me why? Any response appreciated.Thanks. |
This is probably on account of the increased radius of turn at higher altitudes, which will cause problems for the asymptotic curve algorythms in the FD/autopilot software. I've a feeling the 'bus probably ought to do things by ground track, but the Boeing certainly won't.
