Fdp EASA

Good morning,

in Easa world….
we have a max FDP according ck in time and number of legs. If during operation we divert, the max FDP will reduce due to an increase of legs or remains the previous one.

If you divert on your last leg the number of legs will remain the same. If you fly an additional leg then your FDP would likely drop according to the table.

That’s then another sector and will definitely count towards your max FDP.

The FDP is based on what actually happens, I.e. scheduled 4 sectors you end up with 5 then you consider the FDP for 5 sectors.

Happened to me once. We diverted due to a medical emergency. With now 5 legs to fly we were really close to max FDP so yes, it will reduce

Thats what crewing wanted to convince me once: additional landings due a diversion don’t count.

Of course that is not true and is a direct result as what those rules are meant to be: a minimum safety level that you are not allowed to go below. Of course, discretion is still available, but not up to crewing but rather the captain.
