Battery power alternative
I’m just doing research and wondering if you knew if it’s even possible to provide power (from an external source such as a usb power bank) to a XLR-5 plug that is being plugged into a 2 plug adaptor? Or to wire the batter housing contacts to a usb plug that could go to a power bank and not mess with the adapter. I have a Bose proflight series 2 with a XLR plug that was bought when I flew the ERJ-175. I got it so I wouldn’t have to buy batteries for the headset, and I’m now flying the 737. I’m currently using a XLR to 2 plug adapter in the jet, and using batteries for the power. I just didn’t know if I pulled apart the plug adapter and tried to wire a usb connector to the open pin if I could get that to replace the panel mount power. I don’t know if this is even a possibility. But if it can be theoretically done, how would I wire that? The end goal would be able to have a usb cable running from the adapter or battery compartment to a power bank that I keep in my headset bag that’s much easier to recharge than rechargeable batteries and cheaper than buying AAs for the res of my career. This is just a side project of mine and I’m struggling on where to start. Thank you for any response.
Question is if your headset is still TSO’d after your planned modification.

My setup just has the in line battery pack located in the back of controller/Bluetooth module. Just asking if there was an easier way to keep the ANR powered without having to carry 6 rechargeable batteries or constantly having to buy non-rechargeable batteries. But rather somehow using a battery pack that is already carried in my bag as a backup for my EFB.
I realize the second reality of the legality of it and wouldn’t operate it out of compliance in a flight deck. Just seeing if anyone had come across this already and had an idea on it or if there was a product out there that has already solved it.
Just sitting on reserve and have too much time on my hands to wonder about far fetched solutions to my everyday problem. But I appreciate the concern of having something in the cockpit that isn’t subjected to the established regulations that keep us and our loved ones safe. There’s already too many portable batteries on each flight that can overrun at any time. Just trying to reduce that number if I can.

My $.02 here. A USB power bank is going to provide 5 volts. So a bit low for the 7 to 32 volt range spec'd in B2N2's manual. It may not work.
That said, it might. The slightly low voltage will probably not harm the headset. And the worst you will do is waste a bit of money on a power jack, USB cable and the time to cobble this together if it doesn't work.
Keep in mind that most USB power banks use Lithium Ion chemistry cells. NiCad (or NiMH AA cells) have a much lower propensity for spontaneously bursting into flames. So I'd tend to use the latter if given the option.
