B737NG Yaw damp

What would cause the yaw damp to kick off inflight without giving the pilot a warning light?

The transfer bus 1 powers both the yaw damper and the disengage light.

There is a possibility it may have been off before take off without realising giving you a assumption that it happened in flight.

Or Master Caution light stuck in the "in" position which inhibits all the warnings (not a very good situation if it goes undetected)...

WHAT would CAUSE the yaw damper to quick off inflight.....a stuck in master caution....yep that must be the right answer....
I hope YOUR crews have a better clue than you do.
