No they wouldnt. But he told me in conversation that he flew for American Airlines on the B757/767 fleet. He would need to hold an FAA licence then.

Or an ICAO licence and he would also need the rights to live and work in USA, ie married to an American national ... Lt Cnl is a senior military rank, perhaps 15 years service to attain, then he's flown commercially for AA, so why doesn't he refer to himself as Capt. rather than Lt. Cnl.

In my past I worked with a lot of ex military aircrew, I am ex military myself so I 'get it', not one of those would identify themselves as 'Wing Commander' or 'Group Captain' or whatever, they would identify themselves by name or as Captain or whatever.

Not forgetting he worked with NASA.

He would need an FAA ATP part121 license for AA.

He just said on a forum that hes wiating his his Hawker 4000 to arrive in KDAL. Its parked at Oklahoma due to storms.

Again, He claims its not on FR24 due to security reasons for the clients.

Anyway of finding out if a Falcon 8x is parked at any of the Orlando airports or even Daytona?

Asturias56 12th May 2020 17:23

can I ask why you need to know about this guy?

DaveReidUK 12th May 2020 17:31

Mr Engle has a profile on LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/in/wil-engle-49b2421a5/) in which he asserts that he is CEO of "Global Executive Charters NV", which is presumably where the fictitious registration PJ-GEC comes from. His profile, unusually for LinkedIn, makes no reference to his career history.

Of course a profile on LinkedIn doesn't constitute proof that an organisation or individual actually exists. :O

Hes on a forum chatting away giving war stories. Stories that I think are exaggerated or just not true. Im not the only one to pass comment on it.

Same reaction to ‘Stolen Valour’.

But what I dont like is that student pilots are loving it but dont realise this guy could be a Mitty.
The industry already has enough snakes.

Thats the guy. But like you said no mention of the rest. The company doesnt have a website, now I find it hard to comprehend in this day and age that a business Charter company does not have a website, even for the VVIP.

I would like to know if a Falcon 8x is parked either at MCO/ORL or Daytona or even Florida?

There are 11 US registered Falcon 8Xs on the US register at the last count. One is registered in Dallas and one in Orlando. Incidentally, I could only find one bizjet registered PJ- and that's a Cessna 510, PJ-DOM.

War Stories?

Hang on, he's supposedly a RNAF pilot who did some training with USAF when as far as I'm aware the RNAF are quite capable of and do train their own pilots, then he claims to have served under USAF commands yet it's not so common that officers with the equivalent rank of an RAF Wing Commander remain as jet jockeys and particularly not with foreign militaries, by that rank they are normally flying a desk, I'm aware of detachments to other militaries, kind of goodwill reciprocal detachments between militaries, but not entire military flying careers with no mention that he ever flew or fulfilled any role whatsoever with the RNAF.

And when recently have the Dutch (RNAF) been involved in a NATO (war) offensive ... "If something doesn't make sense then it normally isn't true" ... Get over it, get over him.

Isn't the correct abbreviation 'Lt Col'?
I've known pilots on AEFs who are retired RAF senior officers up to Air Cdre and still only use the rank of Fg Off.
On the other hand, I was given the privilege of using the title 'Flt Lt RAFVRT (Retd) when I was kicked out and I know some retired VRT officers/poseurs who do this but I don't.

The Falcon 8x is another person not related to the LT Col. who also doesnt make any sense.

i just feel for these innocent people who have a love for aviation and someone thinks its okay to pretend to be something they are not and feeding them lies.

I have come up with the conclusion that this person is exaggerating their career and status. I do thank you guys for your time and hope you are all keeping safe.

Just a thought - but whilst it's true FR24 do block many flights at the owner's request, there are other smaller websites that track ADSB/MLAT data and the aircraft will likely be visible on these. 360Radar would be one such example, although I'm not sure how comprehensive their coverage of the US is. The next time this guy claims to be airborne, but invisible to FR24, check the other tracking sites.

We didn't have Colonels in the RAF :)

If he is the boss of a commercial executive jet operation on his business cards etc. should be Captain, CEO or similar, no potential civilian customers wants a jerk who remains living in the days of his military youth!

Reminds me of an old boy in the 80's who used to get into our local in Christchurch, he would always be dressed in his RAF uniform and have young girls hanging off each arm! Used to come out with stories of flying Spitfires, Lightnings etc, he claimed to be still in RAF in ATC but still being allowed to fly Chinooks! We always took him with a pinch of salt! I was doing my ATC training at Hurn at the time and one dinner hour a Chinook landed and who should climb out.........
