the most recently painted G-BYAY positioned from Norwich up to Leeds this morning.

The 757's look really smart in their new livery, but they need the thomson.co.uk painted on the engine covers like the 738's, it just looks like theres something missing.
The problem has been that in the past the Thomson decals on the RB211's have peeled and started looking tatty after contact with the various engine fluids. It seems they have been deleted on the new cols machines. |
Hi , I am new to the forum , just thought i would share a pic of G-BYAY sat on stand yesterday prior to her departure to leeds this morning.
G-BYAY Boeing 757-204/W | Flickr - Photo Sharing! Thanks. Matt. |
I personally think the "thomson.co.uk" looks a bit tatty and more of a low cost market advertising niche. I can remember Thomsonfly having "Thomson" on the RB211's on the 75's. However i think it would be nice if Thomson had the Rolls Royce badge/decal on the RB211's like FCA did, mind you the general electric decal is on the new 787's G-TUIA+G-TUIB.

Ive seen your pics on Flickr and they are very good. Welcome to the forum. :)
Also welcome to the forum to you too wowk :) |
I would also like the RR logo on the 757 engines, it always reassured me when travelling on one.
When these 757s are painted at Norwich is any service work done on them? |
|
Strangely, G-TAWM doesn't have the thomson.co.uk on the engines? Maybe thomson never wanted them on them it's something boeing just presumed they wanted?
|
Naw !
Not impressed !!
Looks like it has been designed by a committee :ugh: What a mess !! As for that lumpen piece of rubbish, the Tui logo. I thought it lumpen when launched and it has just got worse with age :ugh: |
You`d think that all the aircraft would be painted/repainted into the new Thomson livery, as per instructions from Thomson. There doesn`t seem to be any consistency in the repainting though!
Website address on engines, or not Aircraft type titles underneath registration, or beside it Different sized `Thomson` titles Different fonts for registration & aircraft type marks White or blue tail registration marks :ugh: |
The livery looks like it has been scaled for the Dreamliner.
You know, that nightmare product from Boeing which will screw Thomson's long haul schedules later this year sadly. :ugh: |
It's evolving and tweaked as it comes into service. Less so than Monarch....

G-OOBP ferried from NWI-MAN this morning. Does anybody know the next a/c in for spray?

I'm not sure which one is being painted next, but there are currently none at Norwich. There is a chance one could be getting painted at Manchester though as some have been painted there. :) |

Oh dear, once again there is a change in the scheme, no "thomson.co.uk" on the engines :ugh:
|
Only G-TAWK and G-TAWL have the thomson.co.uk on the engines. I would imagine they will be removed in due course.
