New Thomson Livery

Hello. I have created a New Thomson Livery thread so people in The normal Thomson thread don't have to complain about livery posts.

Here is the new livery:
http://worldairlinenews.files.wordpr...onlr.jpg?w=606

It is due to be painted on one of the 767's this week, which one I dont know.

My guess would be G-OOAN as it's been out of service since 01Apr.

Rather disappointed TOM have decided to introduce the new livery onto a 767 instead of with the delivery of the first 787! All of the recent 737's that have been delivered in the now old livery aswell :ugh:

NEastMidlands 29th Apr 2012 07:00

I believe its G-OBYG

I dont think but i could be wrong that any of the ex FCA 767's are being repainted.

G-OOAN has indeed been out of service from 1st April for cabin refitting

MKY661 29th Apr 2012 11:30

I thought only two ex FCA's were going. G-DBLA & G-PJLO.

I wonder if all the TUI companies will get the new livery or if its just Thomson. If its all of them wonder what it looks like in Yellow.

NEastMidlands 29th Apr 2012 13:50

I know around November last year the two LA/LO were going but has this not been extended due to the 787 delays, the LA has only just been refurbished interior wise. As far as i can see there are no plans to reduce flights in June and August.

There is another one due at the beginning of May. Wether it will be in the new colurs im not sure but if I had to guess I would unfortunately say no.

Saw something at Air Livery today......:ok:

Is Indeed G-OBYG. Wonder when the next one will be? Looking great I'll tell you that :)

AndoniP 30th Apr 2012 16:32

i can't say it's significantly different than what they have or what is out there already. horrid typeface, horrid logo, same wavy lines along the fuselage as BMI, it's all a bit 'meh' imo.

clipstone1 1st May 2012 11:19

the typeface/font is TUItype - as it has been since 2001/2.....

The livery on the 767 is different than the one depicted on the 787. Check the tail colour.

Cut off the tail on the 767 and the livery is good in my opinion, however the TUI blue tail is too light to be placed there and clashes with the dark blue below. I dont get why they sandwich dark blue between the two light blue sections, it ruins the overall look.

It could easily be improved by extending the dark blue into the tail to provide a better flow in the colour changes from dark to light. That would obviously be against the brand mark though.

The TUI Belguim livery on OO-TUC Jetair - TUI Airlines Belgium Boeing 767-341(ER) - Planespotters.net Just Aviation is a million times better than the bland one tone blue flying around today and would be great on the 787.

The 787 is only an artist's impression. No doubt when it finally arrives it will have the same coloured fin as the 767. After all, that fin colour is Thomson/TUI's trademark colour on all their travel agencies.

:ok: as I noted a little further down in my post. They should have hired the artist who painted the 787 because the tail looks a million times better :)

Found some pics of Thomson planes in the new livery on FSX for the 737 and 757. Looking good:

Looks lovely IMO.

Would love to see it on a 757 ... bet it looks great

SCANDIC 17th Jun 2012 15:15

Who will the First choice 767's go to in winter plus some of the 757's.

NEastMidlands 17th Jun 2012 19:37

i suspect they may well go to no-one going on age alone.

Chappers. 20th Jun 2012 10:26

I was informed a couple of years ago by a good source that none of the ex-FCA 767's are going to be repainted as they are all due to (eventually) be replaced by the 787 - they are also older than the TOM airframes.

G-DBLA & G-PJLO are leased from a different company and were due to be "retired" some time ago, but the leases have been extended due to the delays delivering the Dreamliner. This is also why they are the only two that have not been fitted with winglets.

BN2A 28th Jun 2012 00:55

:ok:

MKY661 16th Sep 2012 15:27

Wonder what will be next to get repainted? Im sure we will se some more when the new 737's arrive this winter.

Local Variation 16th Sep 2012 16:32

There was a Thomson 737 in the BMI hanger at East Mids today in the new livery.

'OO-.... was the reg as we toodled past.

MKY661 16th Sep 2012 16:34

Unless its off to Jetairfly

Local Variation 16th Sep 2012 16:37

Didn't get much of a look, but it was defo a 737.

oldbalboy 16th Sep 2012 17:25

OO left fleet in spring last 737-300 OP leaves in october?? the new livery is for UK based Thomson a/c only at his time & doubt Jetair would take an old 300 as they are 700/800 operator.

Hotel Tango 16th Sep 2012 17:50

Why is it that so many spotters and even professional aviation people don't seem to know the difference between hangar and hanger? I've even seen it in official NTSB publications!

He meant that the reg began with OO- like Jetairfly planes do as they are from Belgium. Sorry if I confused you and hope that sums everything up! :)

airsmiles 17th Sep 2012 13:15

OO-VAC positioned EMA to Belgium this morning so this might be the one that was seen recently in the hangar.

MKY661 17th Sep 2012 17:17

OO-VAC has the new livery for Jetairfly. If I could make it bigger I could. Downloaded a big pic of it on Paint and tried to add it but turns out you can't.:

oldbalboy 17th Sep 2012 17:41

so its going group wide!

Burnie5204 17th Sep 2012 23:52

Oh how I hate the light blue colour on the vert. stab...

It's not even the same colour as the blue used on the bodywork on the current scheme let alone the new one.

BN2A 18th Sep 2012 07:14

Obviously the budget didn't stretch that far.....

First 757 G-OOBH in New Colours
Skyliner states it was ferried BHX-NWI-BHX 1-6Nov. Is this correct? Thought it took a lot longer to fully repaint a B757! Data24 shows it routing CWL-NWI-BHX on the same dates.

Any more repainted lined up?

Evanelpus 7th Nov 2012 14:44

This is one of the nicest new liveries a British airline has introduced in decades.:D

MKY661 7th Nov 2012 18:18

I have a feeling the next one to get the new colour scheme will be the next 737 to be delivered, G-TAWK, due on 20th November at Manchester

Well dated in my opinion. Shades of BMI.

boeing_eng 9th Nov 2012 10:46

Well dated in my opinion. Shades of BMI.

Well if its dated then bring back more of these "dated" colour schemes!:hmm:

Its far better than the minimalist predominantly white paint jobs so common these days (and there wont be many who disagree its an improvement on the old Thomson cols!)

MKY661 13th Nov 2012 18:45

G-FDZA now in New Scheme:

Think G-TAWK will follow shortly as well. Not sure about being painted though
