I think I saw the Wallace again at Old Warden a few years ago.
Just had Spitfire 'IDN right over the top - nice to see it out to the west of the Biggin circuit! Inbound bizjet traffic I should think...

Pleasure to hear - though not able to see! - BBMF's Hurricane PZ865 and Spitfire XIX PM631 at lunchtime - they individually beat up Kenley about an hour apart. I was out walking through woods at the time, the Hurricane was less than half a mile away...

Interesting activity in the Arabian Gulf / Afghan area observed on FR24 over the last week. I've noted 28 different USAF C-17s, 34 C-135s, 10 KC-10s and (surprisingly) 5 B-52Hs. I'm sure I missed a lot more.
C-130 activities have included Stinger, Ghostrider, Commando II, Combat Spear and Combat King. Two Rivet Joints have been busy too.
USS Ronald Reagan is anchored off Pakistan so there's a lot of US Navy flying, as well as the RAF and several European air forces. Take a look - the place is alive!

Firstly, N52178 is a manufacturer's test registration, worn by dozens of Cessnas over the years.
The Cessna 172P whose details are quoted was cancelled from the US register in 1991, then spent 25 years in Ireland (not the UK), and is currently registered in Germany. It's normally based at Flensburg, Schleswig-Holstein, and sports a rather attractive white/yellow/blue scheme (with matching floats).
Whatever you saw on your screen in and around Afghanistan, it certainly wasn't that C172.

I recall the Seastar appearing at Farnborough in the 1980s and not being developed in a production aircraft - looks like it may now be a goer...
Just had a Saudi C-130H, callsign RSF1049 overhead Birmingham(UK). Seems to be going SW from here
That Seastar looks pretty cool, I wonder what the market is these days for such a beast, probably not that cheap.

Beagle Terriers
Few weeks ago, when we had summer, two Beagle Terriers passed my house on Saturday evening.
Only one showed up on FR24 but there were definitely two! My most unusual spot so far....

Saw something latish last night, across NE London heading SE, looked like landing light which went out, then a faint suspicion of nav/strobes and a con trail but hard to see clearly. Nothing on ADSB that fitted. If no con trail then maybe one of those Islanders...

Just seen G-ODIP (Aviat Husky on floats) dashing along at 79 knots! Many years since I flew the wheeled one based at EGNF, my first tail dragger landing.

I enjoyed a flight in a J-3 Cub floatplane once - I suspect 79kts would be about twice its VNE!
