Three KC-135s busy over Mull at the moment - presumably tanking something.

Ah my days of travelling to airports to look at aircraft - other than for airshows - are long gone... unless anything unusual is about. I will admit to sitting outside Biggin's cafe a couple of years ago while the Trumpton AF was in town and based there - never seen any of them before...
I did hear this morning's AN-12 while hanging washing on the line, but the cloud was too low to permit me to see it (I think)

The windows of Akro Towers were rattled this evening by the thrum of Ivchenko turboprops, something which I guess has become quite familiar for those Ppruners living down sarf. A check of FR24 revealed an AN26 routed Ostend - Newcastle, does anyone have any info on this one?
Meanwhile at 8.30 this morning there was a light prop twin doing a London City easterly approach over Canary Wharf. Could have been the calibrator, or a GA charter. But either would be something you would never see normally at that time in the morning LCY peak hour.

There was a Flight Calibration Navajo wandering about over London yesterday morning. We had a P-68 doing survey/photographic runs between Croydon and Woking on Tues and it was around again yesterday.
Missed the AN-26 even though I was relaxing with the back door open!

It was a Navajo ... this is far too informed a forum to guess types without confirmation
As I write, the morning An-12 is overhead, maybe an hour earlier than normal and a different aircraft today, Meridian of Ukraine UR-CAJ, which appears to have positioned in to Birmingham from Las Palmas a couple of days ago. Complete 8/8 cloud cover inevitably. Can you hear it ...

Yes, I heard it just now at 22000 ft, no aircraft around LHR, little road traffic noise. 1968 model using LHR as a waypoint?
another one chasing it now later model 1969............

Yep, heard both of them while walking with my friend! I like to think she was impressed that I could tell what they were by the sound...
The Ruby Star AN-12 droned over London on it's daily trip, this time in blue sky and sunshine, which allowed a glimpse of it with the sun twinkling off the fuselage.

Heard it while walking with my friend again! Just had an RC-135W trail over out of Mildenhall, and there's a South African Commander 112 just crossed from Ostend into Norfolk. Ferry flight I assume...

Well, I have to say that I am quite intrigued by BA A380 G-XLEL which has described several horizontal loops on the ground in urban areas southwards from Shepherd's Bush and is currently sitting in Richmond Park near the ponds. According to Flight Tracker...
Edit: whoops, now popped up in Bushy Park!
