Ah, yep I saw the Botswana Herc on replay...think I must have been snoozing when it flew past.

Once saw a Botswana Defence Force Islander over my school, heading towards Shoreham and presumably onwards delivery...
Obviously a man of leisure ;-)

i seem to recall Botwanan Islanders back in the 70's/80's at airshows in the UK, perhaps in the pre-delivery phase ?

Think I saw at least three, possibly one green at Bembridge and one at Farnborough - also a Skyvan at Farnborough...

Yesterday I saw two large jets flying in loose formation over Calgary heading northeast. As I suspected, FR24 told me they were KC135s out of Fairchild AFB, presumably heading to Europe.

Quite a bumper day down here in Frome early morning thunder from what proved to be 8 turbo jets with a B52 attached to them heading SW from FAirford at 10000ft , too bloody cloudy sadly..

Around 1030 had to double take as what i thought was huge bird was White Cataline , I realised it was as it was moving far more slowly than a bird LOl. great sight at maybe 5000 ft also heading SW.-they literally look like sailing ships of the air.
2 Hours later the Buff is back again above the clouds but much less noise descending back into Fairford this time at only 5000ft .

More interesting than the procession of KLMs heading too or from the Caribbean and Latam destinations our daily fare.

AFAIK, only the TF33-powered B-52H remains in service. The G was the last turbojet-powered variant.

Looks like (going by, in the spirit of this thread, what has been seen on the computer) quite a chaos at London Stansted last night, with the return charters to Spain after the International football game in London.

18 charters to Madrid (and seemingly none to anywhere else) scheduled away between 0100 and 0400. The whole lot several hours late, quite a few still not gone by 0800. Whatever would the terminal have been like ?

Thnak you as always Mr Reid, would I be right in I assuming TF33s are similar to the early 'fanjets;' as per 707 B and C variants? sos till pretty noisy on todays standards , as I said very disappointing not to see it.

Some consolations over the weekend, a lone low level red arrow hurtling down the Westbury /Frome /Castle Carey railway line mid afternoon followed by a P51 and ?? a Spitfire passing further away but with Merlins still in earshot also headed Sw but much higher. Then today during Fromes very large monthly market most of the reds passing over the town in Brilliant sunshine followed much later bya solitary one. Is that Red Arrown normal practice that one aircrft sort of follows on behind the main formation. The reds were nn route to and from Exeter apparently.

Bugger! Walking through the woods at the far end of the common and heard a sound that could only be C-47s! Three of them out of Duxford, across London, straight over my house, heading indirectly towards Bognor, then out across the Channel. G-ANAF and two Americans... Got a glimpse of the No 2 through the trees... if I had been sitting where I am now would have had a nice view.

Had the "Reds" straight over the top our place enroute to close the Duxford sunday show, spot on time at 500ft and 16:59:45.
Same route every year, one year on route to open the show at 14:00 flew over just as we raised a toast to the next doors new infant.
