As I write I have a couple of Typhoons swooping down over my house to carry out ground attacks on the cereal crop beyond my garden gate. It really is most invigorating to watch and no doubt even more invigorating for those partaking ! I expect it will rain as a result.

Marauding thunderstorms passing over London are causing a rethink in Heathrow's eastern holds... I was looking forward to a bit of son et lumiere, but the electricity seemed to have been disconnected by the time the appropriate wet stuff reached my neck of the woods.

BAW900 describing a particularly nice drifting circular orbit east of Sevenoaks.

On a train between Cambridge and Bury St E, noticed an LS6 on a cross country on ADSB keeping pace with us a mile or two north and orbiting in the odd thermal. At 3500' perhaps above the cloud base? Astonishingly hard to see, thought the wings would flash in the sun. Finally spotted him at Newmarket, below the cloud.

A Coningby Typhoon went directly over London in the last hour at 41,000ft and 630kts on it's way back from a sortie at relatively low-levels in the Solent. Any ideas as to what that was about ? Not so often that such aircraft go over the city.

There was a navy vessel there or there abouts at the time , I just think it was related.

Grimm 99, E-4B sneaking up the Bristol Channel inbound Mildenhall. Even if it did come my way, weather over London is still pants. And yesterday I was just a couple of miles from Mildenhall. One of these days I WILL catch up with an E-4. Air Force One landed at Belfast a few minutes ago.

I'm assuming that that isn't a weather aircraft despite the prefix ? Perhaps a 'sniffer' of some kind ? Pretty rare all he same.

This is a recently converted KC-135R - apparently I saw it as a KC-135A somewhere (gap in in the where/when column but prob Mildenhall or Fairford!) back in the day according to my mil file. Yes, a sniffer rather than weather.
