haha
yup.. its -300 against -200.. exactly what i mean.. aside from that, this normally happens when one model is better than the other.
but a much fairer comparison would be same series, capacity, fuel efficiency, so on and so forth. Then you can actually decide which is the better aircraft.
a lot of factors affect an airlines decision in getting an aircraft. It may be seat capacity, cargo capacity or god knows what the airline needs.
everybody knows about the 787 delay. Almost all in the aviation sector knows about it. No hiding that. But the good thing about it is that, Boeing is doing what they should do. Addressing their mistakes right now when the aircraft is not yet flying. It would save up a lot of money, instead of doing MODS and EOs and SBs and everything. Aside from that an aircraft in the hangar is not going to earn you any money. It will just cost you more.Been working for an MRO for the past 6 years on both Boeing and Airbus, and the difference between the amount of work to be RE-DONE on an airbus (specially on a 330 and 340) compared to Boeing aircraft is a lot.
I personally would rather have a 787 in 2010 passing all its certification with flying colors and encountering minimal problems. Compared to the almost disaster of having a test flight and almost losing some parts of the belly for a maneuver on an empty aircraft. . let me guess.. uncalculated?
fuel efficiency, safety, low maintenance costs and reliability.. and one more thing RELIABILITY AGAIN. you sum it all up and its money for the airlines.. thats why most of them would wait.
And I want one of those LEGOS...

"The 787 will be a very good plane for sure. It's a shame it has been delayed. But I think it will be worth the wait."

.. the expectation was that the plan could go all the way to Greece ... the distance between Mexico city and Athens is roughly 7,000 nautical miles ...
