There are now five XL a/c at LGW. Four (the smaller a/c) have been blocked in, the fifth (on stand 155) is not.

This is the status as of 13:25 BST (when I returned from BLQ).

Who do you think will go under next?
someone who calls himself 'Scandick' on Pprune.......hopefully under deep water!

Fun, isn't it? Trying to guess which airline runs out of cash first! Twerp. It's quite possible also drowning themselves will be your old grammar teacher, if you ever went to school. Have you read your post?

Lets All Hope There Is No More

This is a spotters page and some of us do want to see where the fleet end up
but lets not loose sight of the fact thousands of people lost there holidays
and STAFF there Jobs . Many Spotters have travelled on Airlines that have
Since been Lost and XL was in my opinion one the best . WE Do not want
any more closures but it might Happen . So lets keep this thread simply
about where the Fleet End up and no more of "WHO IS NEXT " it might BE YOU
To all the XL STAFF I wish you all the very best and thanks for a good
Service

Can you really see any professional pilot getting on an imponded plane and trying to taxi and take off without clearances, even getting it tugged to another part of the airport requires clearance and I am sure the tug operator would not want to get involved in anything like this either. Just seems a bit overkill to me.

There has been an A320 impounded at Glasgow for ages.

Was there not an incident of an aircraft landing at Prestwick at night with no clearance and no runway lights a while ago?

on the ground Grab

Dont think its anyone trying to fly one out there concerned about its
more likely if the Aircraft was movable and towed to another area
Someone owed money might lay claim to it and further problems might
Arise . Surely there is no Aircrew who would risk there LIVES and others
trying to remove an aircraft without lights , fire cover etc its just to
Silly an idea to suggest ,

I understand from the British Consulate staff at Sanford on Saturday, that the XL 767/2 stuck there was actually taxiing out when the news of XL's failure broke on Friday 12th September. The aircraft was immediately surrounded by Police vehicles and escorted back to the stand and passengers dis-embarked.

We were among the lucky ones. We flew home to LGW the following day (Saturday) on Luz Air's L1011 Tristar 500 operating a repatriation flight on behalf of Monarch. To say the flight (and the aircraft!) was "basic" is an understatement, but we were all glad to be on board and heading home.

Which crew?

Just wondered who is flying all these aircraft around? XL France/Germany crews? Contractors? CAA pilots?

Just curious......
