Gracias

This is not going to help as my licence is a UK one, but nevertheless... my PPL originally came without a night rating, after I qualified and sent the relevant paperwork, a new page one came in the mail (the UK licence is a bunch of loose A5 pages. It looks a bit like a best-seller), this one exactly the same as the original except for an added sentence to the tone of "the privileges of this licence might be exercised at night".

Then my CPL again makes no mention whatsoever of night or day anywhere (I do have an IR, and had it on my PPL already).

I can't really be asked to look it up, but I suspect JAR-FCL (and thus its transposition into national law) will have something to the effect of a night qualification being a requirement pre-CPL?

Hope this helped (probably not, I know)

France, Portugal, UK, or within Spain itself (I believe it's done during IR training, but I'm not sure).

As I understand it, the issue is not so much with the DGAC, as they have approved night VFR--it's in the AIP and everything, but with AENA who are not willing to pay for their controllers to get the Night VFR qualification, and of course according to the AIP (IIRC) you can only fly NVFR from approved controlled airports... of which there are none

The Netherlands have a similar problem, btw, so you're not alone.

Night Rating
