Jetstar Japan
Hello guys someone got info about Jetstar Japan interview and sim ??? |
Someone got info about the interview process????? sim interview questions..... |
Oh, JAL guys. When i did I the sim evaluation, the PM (old JAL inspector) can’t finish the gravity landing gear extension check list. He forgot but the crank down after three circle. I was shooting the VOR, 1 mile to the FAP, I ordered him to put the crank down which i thought embarrassed him. Outcome was sent by email , failure. |
my interview and sim are also coming up in September. Any info or PM is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Tax
Hi, Just wondering if anyone who is currently over in Japan working with Jetstar could PM me some details on the tax you can expect whilst living in Tokyo. Thanks! ===================== Until you have a posting history you don't have access to private messaging and adding urls. |
If you earn about 10 million yen you will take home about 7.5 million.

Dext Something to think about if you intend to be a tax resident of Australia ( I.e. Commute ) is the social insurance deductions and whether they are tax credits or not. In Japan you may feel you are paying a fair share of your income to the Japanese government and then come home and pay more to the Australian government. A lengthy discussion with your accountant would be the best advise. |
Thanks for the information. Intention would be to reside in Japan and pay taxes there. Looks to be about the same tax rate as Australia. Guess I will need to hunt down a tax agent over here with Japanese tax experience. |

All pay and allowances are taxable except per deim... I am not at JJ but another Japanese Airline and a taxable resident... Expect about 900,000 a year for NHI which JJ will cover half I believe... Jpn SS not sure which program they will place you in but could range from 16000 to 55000 jpy a month again JJ covers half... As always consult a tax pro for real facts, milage and rates may vary... Hi all,
New here :) I was having a look around for some info about the Jetstar Japan selection process and I came across a site aviationzorro.com/flight-crew It seems to have some useful stuff that may be of help. You have to register your email but it’s free to access the information. |

A good salary for an airline Captain? Hardly. You’d do double that in the US as an RJ Captain. 10 million Yen is about USD$95,000 - that’s a hell of a MONTHLY salary... :) |

Think the important word in the sentence is MONTHLY!!
10 million Yen is about USD$95,000 - that’s a hell of a MONTHLY salary... :) Are you sure about those numbers? 10M JPY sounds more like a yearly salary to me. I doubt any (Japanese) company will pay a (foreign) captain that much. |
Of course the person posting those figures meant annually... :) |
Hi all
Jokes aside, just a comment for awareness for any interested. When working for SKY all payments were net, at end of J tax year figures were "bulked up" and the company paid the applicable tax and provided the final tax certificate as proof. Clean and clear. Couple of years ago, things may have changed at SKY...or not. I note the different contracts for Peach/Spring J/J*J seem to mix and match, some payments taxed/some not and as jjp.crj suggests a figure of 30-33% a fair expectation for all the 3 tiers of tax within Japan if applicable. AirJapan totally different concept and N/A. Would suggest accountants have "tweaked" things in some companies - probably not to the benefit of the pilot, strange about that!! Be aware. Cheers. |

Pilot life in Japan
Hey guys! finally if everything is set, im ready to move to tokyo earlier next year. But, i have no idea about living in tokyo. What i know is the company will provide me hotel during the training.. but after that my family will come to live with me.. my question is, which district should i search for house / apartment? i want a direct subway/train access to Narita Airport.. and international school around. And how much it will cost 2-3bedrooms room? i dont know where else to ask.. im wondering if anyone of you currently living with your family in Tokyo. Any help would be great. Thanks! |
House hunt will come later (much later). If you want a decent 2 bedroom apartment in Tokyo itself and good subway and train connections plan for 3000 usd per month and you’ll be safe. International school plan from 1200 to 2500 usd per month depending on age of children and school. Good luck |
