I´m afraid there is no " go through Paramount" anymore...

tknapp 22nd Apr 2013 14:06

Did you hear that from Paramount. Thats the first I had heard of it.

Flappo 22nd Apr 2013 14:36

Even worst, Paramount doesn´t have a clue about what´s going on there...not being able to inform the candidates about the application status.

tknapp.

The guy from Human resources department is offering, under the table, other conditions (bad or good but different ones). Seems they want to, somehow, break their business with Paramount.
At the same time there is another agency in Dublin offering the same terms than the HR guy.

Some key points:
. italian mob and cronyism (coming from an italian p2f airline)
.people paying bribes. Some of them to get the job and all the others to get better roster.

email from Paramount to the candidates:
".....There is a possibility that you will be contacted directly by Mr.xxx or other VietJet staff. If this occurs, please advise me immediately...."

Yeah, I did here about bribes to rostering,I think some guys have complained about it from what I heard. That's interesting about Paramount. If that's the case about contracts they will loose a lot of pilots once VNA start to hire again.

What's going on? Heard that a few new hired captains went through conversion course recently. Also heard that half of them failed sim ride.

Anybody got hired via Paramount or the agency in Dublin?

Jaz and the Fat Man 15th Jun 2013 16:57

Actually, the contract being offered is the same one that was offered six months ago. There was an attempt to lower the contract slightly to around 10+ per month (is that so far off for hanging out in Saigon?) but that isn't happening. Just one more ppruner at work slamming another airline that wouldn't hire him. They have hired several pilots in both seats since May and are continuing to do so. A few did fail the CAAV check but of course, that couldn't possibly be the pilots fault due to lack of prep, could it. I thought it was a much easier check than others I've done in the past.

They appear to be hiring direct now. Good or bad, time will tell.

If you have some solid 320 time and find yourself at the end of your contract, it's not a bad place, as some would like to make it out.

Welcome to Vietnam boys!!!! They've also recently taken on former COO of Air Mekong, Les Stephens (a.k.a. - Total Scumbag).... I guess since he ran one airline into the ground they thought he was qualified for something at Vietjet as well....even after he failed his A320 checkride :D

HornetDrvr 14th Aug 2013 08:24

Yes I did work at AMK, and we had more MELs than in the States - we also had a lot of maintenance induced air emergencies. Unfortunately, you apparently have yet to work for an outfit, who in order to cut corners they decide not to spend money on things like maintenance. Don't think it can happen at Vietjet??? Just wait until they fall on hard times and can't pay the bills anymore or the inherent Vietnamese greediness takes over, and with the recent addition of a certain Les Stephens (former AMK COO) at Vietjet, I have absolutely no doubt he will make such things a reality for you.

And as for aviation authorities "breathing down" necks, just wait until they don't fix your airplanes anymore, the CAAV cites the company and then it all goes away because they were paid off. Do you hold your life and the life of your passengers so cheaply???? Rules in aviation are there for a reason because in all likelihood they were 'written in blood' so to speak.

And yes, YOU ARE WRONG about all AMK pilots coming from ASA or the regionals.

I don't like it and I did leave on a professional level, so I'm way ahead of you, though I do still live there. And as for making more money, ASA and flying RJs, rest assured, my career is going a good deal better than yours I'll venture: I AM making more money as a 737 Captain getting ready for transition to the A330 at a much better company (that I didn't have to pay to work for) than VietJunk or VNA....but thanks for your concern!
