An A+ for the effort, time and patience!

And what about the money spent?

optimus.Prime 6th May 2010 05:23

@ jimmygill,

That was for the laborious task of remembering and sharing with all, some of the questions that were asked during the "assessment". :ok:

RterO 6th May 2010 14:30

Hey any idea when the interviews are to be held?:}

jimmygill 7th May 2010 06:42

Candidates were given answer sheets to mark the answers with pen.
No OMR sheets. Answer had to be TICKED with pen.
And the modus operandi was:

If you don't know the answer leave it unmarked, Parul will mark the correct choice for you, provided you are in her good books.

Am I lying?
Am I just making sure that people get discouraged and I can sit for the exam with least competition?

But seriously speaking there are better uses to 375 USD than the Indigo Assessment.

Does anyone know how much these candidates earn as a salary once you join them as a junior co pilot ?

Also how much would you earn once you are upgraded to a fully fledged co-pilot and how long would that take ?

Is it worth paying $31,000 :( for the type rating ?

If you read the FAQ's even if i have 5000 hrs of pure jet time (as a co-pilot on a non airbus family)
i still have to pay atleast $20,000 for the type rating to CAE if i want to join them  :ugh::(

Questions

Assessment on the 2nd of May 100 questions, 70 % passing:

1. A Mercator Chart on a parallel 46 deg N, the Chart distance is 133 cms. What will be the scale factor at 36 deg N/S lat?

2. Departure questions X 2 nos. having the 1st position followed by 4 different legs in NM calculate the final position.

3. PET and PSR questions with G/S already calculated 1 each

4. Lots of Human Factors 15 questions.

5. Metrology atleast 15 questions.
a. Metar's X 2 nos. on RVR

4 Flying @ FL 22000 decent to 4000 Ft. G/S 150 kts. what will be the ROD?

5. Mode C transponder can be operated in :
A. Control airspace
B. Uncontrolled airspace and to be turned on when ATC instructs
c. Should be on at all times while flying
d. Should be on at all times while flying, but can be asked by the ATC to shut down.

6. Calculate range of 2 VOR's

7. Lambert conical chat X 2 questions.

8. CRM X 4 questions.

9. Radio aids like TCAS, SSR, Primary radar, DME atleast 8 to 10 questions.

Overall the question paper wasn't that bad except few of tricky HF and CRM. Out of 80 people only 4 cleared. I don't think selection criteria is 70 % it is above that which CAE doesn't wasn't to mention as they won't get as much business as they would otherwise.

I personally think it waste of Money to pay 375 USD to them for a LOI?......
