The UB group has shifted the Ownership of Vijay Mallyas jet VT-VJM from Kingfisher to UB group.

This is enough of a sign of whats going to happen sooner or later!

$1.4 billion in debt! Even FDI cant save it!

The sad part is, that ever after being given so much of time to recoup this airline, the management does not look interested!

Their model and Management need an Adrenaline shot! Straight in the heart!

Red face Forbes article

Well Forbes seems to think its all over--as per thier article "on the rocks" in
forbes of India.
For my many Indian pilot friends, remember i always said you need a--
I.A.L.P.A. without it u will be subject to situations like this and lose 5 months pay because of no repersentation.
Also lets hope the DGCA learns a lesson and gets rid of the 6 month NOC crap.

Somehow I don't think this is the last of kingfisher.
Not yet.

There's something more to it.

Anyways, 200 experienced pilots shouldn't dent the aspiring ones for long.

Rumours about bhushan leaving seem to be connected to KFs survival as of now.

Why don't these folks just choose tge expat lives and move on???

For KF bus pilots there are openings in IndiGo, GoAir, Volk. Some KF pilots even went to Spicejet where the company paid for their 737TR.

For Airbus Skippers ( read Captains), the world is open right now. Places in China paying $200,000.00 per annum & Middle Eastern carriers are looking for CA's as well.....

Only for those who want to get out of INDIA...

The Big Chief has asked striking employees to not 'disgrace' the airline. I am actually at a loss for words at his statement.

Don't envision a lot of these guys leaving India. I believe China has started looking at Indian pilots now.

Either way the Indian market is going to be saturated with experienced TR'ed guys in the short term. Not good for the wannabees.

Cathay might do the same.. yes but Capts only..FOs will suffer..ab-initos will be in hell for yrs

KF will be replaced eventually.....

Even though the down fall of KF is very sad & spell bad times for indian aviation & pilot wannabees, BUT historically whenever any airline has gone down, another one has come up to replace it...

I remember EAST-WEST airlines opened, then ModiLuft, then Damania, then NEPC, then one by one, they all closed..... Jet, Spicejet & Sahara replaced them eventually...

If KingFisher does not get it's act together & doesn't survive, it will also join the list of failed airlines.....

The market served by KF will remain, it is just a matter of time, when some other company will come in & replace KF....

For those who want to leave India, Middle Eastern airlines will be picking up all the experienced guys. Korean (KAL) & Chinese airlines are looking for people with time on TYPE, so there are a lot of options.

Captains with A320/A330 command will be welcome just about anywhere who operates these A/C.

Those who don't want to go out of India will have go to Indigo.

Indigo has the largest aircraft order & will have A/C delivered continously for the next so many yrs. After so much hiring, Indigo NOW has got just the right amount of staffing, for the amount of planes. The pilots can breathe a little easy & get some leave if needed. It will all change in the next few months, when more planes come in & staffing is short....

Indigo, so far, has taken pretty much all the experienced CA's & FOs from KF already. Any FO's with 500 hrs or more on type will not have that big of a problem moving on. Anyone with less than 200-300 hrs on A320 will also get absorbed eventually....

CPL holders with 250-300 hrs TT & just a TYPE rating will have the most difficult time...

The guys who paid a lot of money to KF for type rating either in ATR or A320 & have not yet completed the type rating or IOE will be in the worst situation... They will loose all the money & will get no type rating also.

Thumbs down

Its a disgrace for young pilots to pay many lakhs for a type rating and then, no rating and no money returned. the govt should step in and use some KFA`s assetts to pay them back and to pay off the 5 months they owe the employees

Are you serious? Are you sure you're a mature US individual?
It's a disgrace when abinitio pilots agreed to pay for type rating and build time making less than at Mac Donalds!
It's a disgrace when pilots don't bother to sell themselves cheaper and cheaper. The botom seems to be never reached.
It's a disgrace when the write is on the wall for many months and nobody moved their asses for better oportunities. Just sit and cry about not being paid.
Anyway, in India normally youngsters from afluent families got from daddy the cash to give a try on this career, thus taking their risk.
There's nothing what the goverment can do about that.
India need a lot of good engineers, doctors, lawyers, not pilots.

O We will assist you with the Dell ,but who ? O who will help you get well !

On a serious note I empathize with the people who lost jobs. There is an article in India Forbes on VJM probably worth a look at.
