Thailand Float Planes
Hey Guys just trying to find out some info on Float Pilot Job prospects in Thailand, been searching the net all morning with not much luck.
The type of info I'm after is the the normal recruitment requirements, expected salary, some float plane operators to look at etc etc?
Cheers

That's not exactly the response I was hoping for I am not Thai I am....wait for it.....I'm Australian. Know of any operators possibly with their company website, I was thinking of heading over in about seven weeks time but would like to know where I should start looking?
Sorry to burst your bubble Sir, but if you have bought a ticket to Thailand job hunting, well, cash it in now is my advise. Most of the Float drivers have in the past been Canadian, Aussie or American in Thailand. All baby sitting a local.
Been some interesting, (read sahddy) history from all 2nd hand accounts.
After many failed attempts and owners, my memory was an attempted re launch of Destination Air based at Phuket Airport in mid 2009.
There are no commercial sea planes in Thailand now.

There are also some other threads I believe on owners not paying crews. But I amuse those owners are well and truly out of the picture.

Float planes don't really work in Thailand as you can't land anywhere - including water - unless the runway or landing area has been selected, approved and blessed by the DCA. Even helicopters are limited to approved helipads. Silly but true - good luck!
