Hi BornFF,
The dates for Mumbai are what I could make out after a thorough analysis of posts on this thread. Especially the dates given by shortlisted candidates Ngirish, Topgun, etc.
I have an A380 captain/pilot contact in SIA, who has been for interviews in India, before. According to him, SIA needs lots of pilots considering their aggressive growth plans. If candidates are good in a particular city they may extend the process & vice-versa. SIA Flying school has a cadet program starting every 1-2 months. Training is tough and drop outs frequent. Hence as Top gun says, if you have the qualification SIA will call you for the 1st interview.
Like against all odds I am hoping for a call, as I believe its never too late to pursue your dreams.Keep your fingers crossed, an open mind and the passion flying high
Good luck to all and keep updating...! Would be great to use this forum for group prep for possible questions and happy to help anyone with interview skills/queries.
BFN.

1st round interview
Hi everyone!!
I thought this might be a good time to post some useful pointers for interviewees! The following tips were given to me by a very good friend of mine who has previously cleared the 1stround.
These points though simple/ordinary could in fact be the catalyst.
1. Be yourself. They just want to know you better as a person. Questions will range from "tell us about yourself" to " why have you chosen this prog ". Expect to face 2 people : a HR and a Captain .
i was told that the Captain would be doing most of the talking and questions.
2. SInce most of us play flight sim ,it would be smart to be familiar with the aircraft one selects. Questions can range from Vr,V1 values to "why do you like this particular aircraft: to " what does that button do ? "
If an answer is not on your mind , tell them you dont know it and that you wish to learn about it. . If one isnt playing flight sim ,well its cool. You have been selected anyways, you didnt have that in the cv
3. Make sure you know the person who gave you a recommendation letter/ reference very well. They may ask you how you met him/her.
4. Suit Up!! Get "Awesome". You may as well make the most of your opportunity and make them feel you are really up for it. If you dont have one, its okay .Go with a tie or something.
Will post again when i get some more info.

I applied from Chennai and my app. status is showing blank from last 3-4 days.......anyone has any idea why is it so?

I was referring to any recommendation/reference given by a professional who knows you personally . It looks good on your cv , so if you have one , it works out fine or else try to get one from a professional who works for , say the Police force or the aviation field .

Can any one tell what one can expect in the first round . I have heard in the selection process the candidates are asked to write an essay and have to undergo group discussions
however I am not sure wether this is conducted in the 1st or 2nd round .
Also I was wondering on want topics they make us write.. would appreciate if some one could throw more light on this.
Thnks..Viper
