conversion of FROTOL
i submitted my papers for conversion in Oct for the permit.
however i received a letter today which mentions that my application has been returned on the basis of incomplete document. the list of the documents missing (all the documents) has been enclosed, sadly i have actually submitted all these documents
i will try to talk to the officers on phone. but has this happened to anyone before??
how did you deal with this?!

I do not know what you exactly did because I got the Indian RT Permit in the same time. I did my Canadian CPL and RT in February but I submitted it in October and got it in November.
Okay, list me out the exact documents you gave in DETAIL
PM me if you like - Either could be the following reasons - You submitted the photocopy of your RT and not your Original Canadian RT which has the number on it, or you submitted the wrong form or the wrong demand draft or did not even submit the passport book you get for the Canadian CPL which is blue in color.
Please enlist the details and I will tell you what you missed -
Thanks

You will get the validity for 5 years for CPL and RT based on canada for your Indian RT Permit. I tried for 5 years. As RT is based on CPL, your canada cpl is life time valid except it has got to be renewed every 5 years for flying and keeping your medical valid.
No, it is useless getting it for 20 years. To get the Indian License is fine, but sit for the first attempt which even my american citizen Indian friend sat and passed it so if he can pass why not all of you and once you do that, then you will get it for life time.

If Iam not mistaken you do NOT have to submit any originals. But you do need to submit attested copies of the CPL and the RT (medical not required). Also read the instructions carefully as they tell you what exactly needs to be attested.
Surely you do not want to part with your originals ....

Rahul - The Orignal RT will have a license number on it, a photocopy of it is fine.
What I may think is that they take that RT license they get on the spot and submit that eventually without waiting for the Original - some cases have been of like that.
and so the rejection

@Sakshi
As per my knowledge, for an RTR (P) the only option available is 20 years validity.
If you're applying for an RTR (A) you would have both options available to you, but you'll need to take the RTR (A) part I and part II exam for this.

@sierra_november - I agree about that 20 years but the last four licenses that have been issued including mine was for 5 years. Now I got to go find out if that can be renewed or what
This because of the new book that Canada introduced for their CPL.

Submit the 5,000 for 20 years
Earlier licenses from Canada did not had validity dates and so they were 20 years and now the newer ones have come out with validity dates that can be renewed after 5 years as Rahulred mentioned that these licenses are valid life time and keeping it current.
They say 20 years and I got 5 years along with my 3 other friends.

No do not do that
WPC already knows about the new booklet. You will get rejected for not submitting that book copy and then you will get stuck with your licensing in a pursuit of 20 years

hi to all,
the culprit i learnt about when i visited wpc was the document attestation. they want them to be attested by government officer only, an mbbs legally practicing doctor won't do. this was my problem. they sure would have saved me a hell lot of trouble by mentioning this in their letter or by answering my calls. oh another thing they DO NOT AND WILL NOT help you on phone no matter what.
lesson for all- make a trip to delhi and submit your documents personally had i done that i would have had my permit by now.
oh this also applies to the dgca documents.
