A Shocker !!!

When did jet come up with an advertisement regarding FO positions? How did the guys who have been invited to appear in the written apply for the position(Or Is this exam being held for the kids of politicians and commanders)? I just saw a tini-tiny ad in the career section of their web site which stated they required type rated FOs.No specifications given about hour requirements nor the licence type.I think the ad was floated just to pacify the unemployed lads without any backing or JUGAAD !! I was shocked when I read jet has already allotted role nos for the exam and the exam is scheduled to be held on 1st august.I might have been ingnorant but never heard anything regarding jet air openings from fellow aviators as well.Wish the system could be a little more transparent and enduser friendly.

soaring.high, I know of 2 Pilots (ex flight students of mine) who have applied for Jet FO positions, they didnt wait for a advertisment, they got off their asses and just sent in applications. I asked how did they know there was jobs, they said there is no ads they just applied and got a response from Jet out of the blue so to say.

I havent heard though what has happened to them yet, I think they haven't been called for the exam but they know its coming .

soaring.high,

I feel for you. But .. here's one of the first few things I learnt about this industry (pertaining to aspirants/wannabes).

If you keep hearing lots of rumours and stuff, then 90% of the time it is fake BS.

However, if there is a lull, and no one is talking about ANYTHING whatsoever or keeping mum about any particular airline recruitment (especially your good friends), then 110% there's something on the cards very soon.

You can see how true the above statement is by simply going through various threads on pprune the last couple of years.

I guess there's no point in being a good samaritan when you're unemployed after spending Rs 25 Lakhs.

Sad but true.

@Its Broken Again,

Sir if that is the case then I have gotten off my ass atleast 50 times and have applied to Jet air.(without an advetisement !!)and probably that is the reason why my rear is quite firm...lol !! But havent been lucky even once.I might be wrong but I think its a mere co-incidence that your ex-students applied w/o an advertisement and got a call to take part in the selection process.Jet air has never responded to my mails or applications as yet.Anyway I hope that your ex-students put on a good show at the selection process.

@Shanx

Thank you very much for your kind words mate !!
I guess there's no point in being a good samaritan when you're unemployed after spending Rs 25 Lakhs.
You are right.Every thing is fare in love,war & Indian Aviation !! I still do hope that some of us w/o jugaad or political connections clear the selection process(Talking about those who have been called for the exams w/o jugaad !!) and be onboard of a shiny jet (Cant be me for sure lol...)

To all,
So all the guys who have been called for the written exam hold a type rating?(B-737NG or ATR 72).As per the advertisement its a pre requisit that you hold a TR.Just curious.

I guess you are on a different page as concerned to the latest development at JetAirways recruitment, because everything unfolded in past 12-15 hours only.

So true. I must add that 9% of time its original BS also, that leaves very little.
