Dear Coleagues, I have recently passed the selection process for INDIGO.
I would like to know how is the living in New Dheli? How is the acomodation provided by the company?, and in general how is the living.

Passed the selection for what? The SO programmes at CAE and Simcenter/IC Pilot?
Or for an FO or Capt position?
If you've passed the SO selection, you don't need to be worrying about living conditions in India for quite a while, according to most the info on this site, because it could be a long wait before you actually get on the line.
If you all are headed for FO/Capt positions, then I take back the previous sentence and I should say good luck and congrats!

It's for SO, I have read different opinions about training with INDIGO, It's true that I don't know any pilot who has already done the training with them.
I hope someone can tell us more about the actual situation.

search the threads around here...there is one thread called IngiGo and the Pay-for-Play Wannabes/SOs.
Do NOT go to simcenter/ICPilot. At least go to CAE, who is at least mentioned on IndiGo's website.
I would only do CAE, and even then I would be very very wary, because rumours abound of CAE losing that contract sometime soon. If they lose the contract whilst you're in training, and IndiGo switches to another TR provider, do you think they'll give you your money back? If so, go for it...if not, I would stay away.
Then again, aviation is much like gambling...you can go "all-in" and get a job on a jet with low time...or lose all your money and go back to a regional/charter job with a $12-30K hole in your pocketbook that is pretty tough to fill with a regional salary.

i think another 6 months and the SO program will start working for a lucky few. and last for a few years. Indogo/simcenter has a hard enough time getting high time guys into the program right now...but it is working.

well I guess we'll just have to wait and see who is right!!! My humble opinion is that if Indian companies are going to hire guys with 0 on type as SOs, they might as well hire and train their own locals. There are plenty of Indian nationals finishing CPLs...why wouldn't they just take those guys on as SOs? Expat pilots are supposed to be gap-fillers until the Indians get the quals to fly...so why would they spend all of their training resources (i.e. the time spent with training capts) on expats who are going to leave the second they get a better job back home? Wouldn't it make more sense for them to devote their TRE/TRIs to training Indian SOs who would stay for many years after upgrading?
I'm not an Indian...I'm just a guy who is making the observation that it would make sense for Jet, IndiGo, Deccan to do exactly what they've all been doing--stalling on bringing in the expats with low time until they see whether they can fill those low time slots with Indians coming out of the training pipeline. They have a vested interest in dragging along as slow as their crew scheduling allows becasue every day that goes by more and more Indian nationals finsish the CPL...there are literally 100s if not 1000s in the US training right now--I know about 30 of them from just one airport in rural Texas.

Maybe it's easier to promote a pilot with 2000 h TT, 1000 of them in A320.......who knows in the future?¿

One thing we all need to keep in mind is this--there is a lot of consolidation that could happen in the next 10 years. That market is where the US and Euro markets were in the 60s--rapidly expanding and deregulating.
Right now it's in the rapid expansion phase...like everything else in nature, financial markets, and every other industry--right after massive expansion and growth of a sector, there is inevitably a survival of the fittest and whoever wins out might not be who you work for.
The only thing that troubles me about IndiGo is that they aren't getting into the lucrative international routes...companies like King and Jet have multiple revenue streams--transcon flights, transcon + domestic connection flights, AND domestic flights. That gives them a lot of stability that can outsurvive any local economic recessions...whereas if India's economy ever cools, the domestic-only carriers will get hit hard.
Those 100 A320s on order are predicated on India's economy continuing to bring 5% of the poor into the middle class every year...that's not necessarily going to continue (though I hope it does!)

I have heard from company pilots that IndiGO has delivery dates for A330s. And I have also heard they plan to go international which they could do with A320/321.
I think there is a 5 year wait imposed by the Indian gov. for approval for international ops.

Nothing to back it up. Just word of mouth from an IndiGO expat Captain. Same with the plan to go international...just word of mouth. Whatever that is worth? It is all a crap shoot for pilots in this business.
