Hey Left Wing
Any idea whether Kingfisher is serving their brew on board? Or is booze still off limits after that old Damania cock up?

What about 40. "One to go" is this just part of Thai Airlines, or is it an LCC start up must be indoubt after latest Thai Aigures?

36. Kakoak Air maybe a start up but they are using Merparti equipment and crews so Iay omit this one.

Any other changes or omitions please advise and thanks for the inputs greatly.

Helloha,

40. One Two Go ,, Orient Thai Airlines' low cost susidiary with MD82's. Maiden flights on Aug12 from Bangkok to Ubon Ratchatani and Surat Thani.
Infact first aircraft callsign HS OMA an ex-continental, painted up in the usual Orient Thai modern artistic colourful scheme.

Ok, some info came out about Paramount Airways in the Hindu (a south Indian daily) yesterday.

Their top boss (who is a textile magnate) is quoted as saying he should get all the type acceptance issues (he is using ERJs which is new to this country for airline operations) sorted out in a few days with the DGCA (the Indian regulator). The first of five aircraft ordered should be soon here as well and the cockpit crew recruited are now undergoing training at Montreal.

Big plans about how he is going to revolutionise the industry including kiosk ticketing at Supermarkets (a little slow here as Deccan has already beaten them to it with ticketing from a major chain of cyber cafes), also frequent flyer plans ...(even before the airline has got off the ground...) etc. But also it has to be said that Paramout has never said they are going o be a LCC from the very beginning.

Sone details of the first routes.. the report quotes their chief guy as saying they will operate from Coimbatore in the south (and a centre of the textile industry)-Delhi, Cochin-Delhi and Chennai Coimbatore. Now the first two are 3 hour sectors at the very least, and I can already predict Indian Airlines is going to slash fares the moment he gets his time table out. They are already operating a one stop service via BOM.Same for DEL-COK, where Jet, Indian Airlines and Sahara all operate one stop services with already cheapo fares, so .......

His third sector is Chennai Coimbatore, a 50 min sector where full service Jet Airways already undercuts LCC Air Deccan 6 days out of 7 on an average, so things will get warm here as well.

Anyway interesting to watch what is going to happen..... No doubt Paramounts decision to base out of Coimbatore is not bad as there is good traffic out there, but I feel the promoters are rather underestimating the likely response of the main line carriers....

Let us wait and see.

Danger

I see that heap of 5h!t, the Orient Thai aircraft is still operational.

If THAT aircraft can still fly (legally) from one country to another, then I can't see any reason(s) for any other operator being refused an AOC this year!

(Yes, that was me, in NGO, making lewid comments about your aircraft!)

hey left wing.

looks like good times ahead for indian aviation.Read in economic times Boeing & airbus trying to set up Mro facilities and training facilities in India.I think if one succeeds in getting it done the other will soon follow.also i read there are talks of AI and IA merging.if privatisation is not possible i think the merger will help them survive the stiff competition.hope they merge and give a good superior product to the travelling public.i havent travelled ai and ia since the 80s due to their disappointing service.

All this growth is happening inspite of oil prices shooting up.thats really amazing.

how i wish amid this growth DGCA would also undergo a major change and change some of their stupid age old regulations.

hey any details about the names of the cargo ops and where their bases will be.

hi guys

one more new start up in india.its called City Air.Its going to be run by a dubai based Indian businessman from the tiny state of kerala.below is the newslink for more details

Keeping the Dreamalive.

Anyone has any contributions. We are now in the last quarter of 2005. Be interesting to see if the start ups list will shrink or grow now!

Thanks in advance.
