Indigo basically takes about 100 Pilots per batch. So 2 days, at a max 200 Pilots. I'm sure they sent emails to more than 200. But its difficult to comprehend how they're planning to go about with their short listing. Are they giving chance to only freshers first and then to Pilots who are attempting it the second time ?

We could argue that Indigo should recruit the way Jet does, but on the other hand, Indigo gives more chances to others who are momentarily not prepared at the time of exams by recruiting every other month.

Did they sent confirmation to Pilots who are attempting the written second time ?

bombayhues 16th Sep 2011 09:25

@beinghuman: Where do you get such numbers (100 per batch) from? The intake is based solely on the number of people making the cutoff of 70%. The pass percentage used to be around 10% earlier and has increased only recently

thanks to all my friends for helping:-

Q2)what is the initial great circle direction from 45N 14'12W to 45N 12'48E?
a)270M
b)080.4T
c)086.5T(ans)
d)090M

Q3)what is the final position after the following rhumb lines tracks and ditanceshave been followed from position 60'00N 030'00W
south for 3600nm
east for 3600nm
north for 3600nm
west for 3600nm

the final position of aircraft is
a)59'N 90'W
b)60'N 90'W
c)60'N 30'E
d)59'N 60'W

Q4)on the 27th feb at 52'S 40'E the sunrise is at 243 UTC on the same day at 52'S 35'W the sunrise is at:
a)0243 UTC
B)0523 UTC
C)0743 UTC
D)2143 UTC

2) Convergency is Dlong X Sin mean lat
= (14 '12' + 12*48*) X Sin 45'
= 27' X Sin 45'
=19'5'30.78
Conversion angle= 1/2 X Convergency
= 19'5' / 2
= 9'32' 45.39
Rhumb line track is 090. The great circle track is 090 - 9'32' 45.39 the answer should be 80' 27' which is = 80.4

The next two questions are simple calculations of the distance along a latitude and longitude using Dlong cos lat along a latitude and Dlat along a longitude.

Hope you got it. :ok:

Na, you got me wrong. I was referring to Pilots appearing for the exam per batch.

flyme01 16th Sep 2011 12:18

Ans. 03) i think there is some printing error..the a/c is moving 60 degree(3600NM) in south east north and west direction..which will make the a/c to reach back to its starting position..
it has to be on 60*N because in this latitude is not changing..therefore we ommit other two options..it cant be in east because a/c first crosse PM and returns back while crossing PM which makes it to come back in Westerly heading..

the answer should be 60*N and 30*W..i think option c has some printing error it has to be 60*N 30*W and NOT 60*N 30*E..

Ans. 04) correct answer is option b..the sun will rise 5hrs late..the second day..because earth is roatating from west to east direction..therefore sun will rise first in east direction and then in west..
therefore, the answer is 0543..
