@eaglewings11

congrats ..
so how was the paper over all , i mean which portion you think is most typical i mean , which we need to prepare best ,or in which we need to put extra efforts , how about met , what did they ask ? if you can answer me that would be a great help for me .. in anticipating a positive reply.

eaglewings11 20th Jun 2011 18:38

@priyankaflyingbird
please go up few post and you will see the post containing few topics from which the questions were asked,

met was simple basic knowledge is more than enough( DGCA std) no indian climatology. question regarding calculating True Alt. Ice assertion in CB, gradient winds, Fog.

i would put more stress on human performance.

overall paper was pretty straight fwd. however you tend to get confused at some questions thats just exam stress.. just be cool and time management at its best :)

bombayhues 21st Jun 2011 05:15

@planeboy: There is no limitation on the number of people IndiGo is going to select. The only criteria is that one has to get more than 70% on the written

aadityaslg 21st Jun 2011 15:19

Hmm... :suspect:

3 to 4% was the previous selection figures.
Its gone upto 20% now, nice.

What will be most interesting is that, how many guys clear the 2nd (PAID) stage now.

ilsdme28 21st Jun 2011 15:32

@aditya

heard a major chunk is coming from reg/met/law ......this time , that might be the reason
for higher pass percentages , but even this is low although good in a way that hard working people are getting through........

@ Adityaslg

there is no PASS or FAIL in CASS
it's based on colour
(Low -high)
Red-you are gone FAIL!!!!(0% chance of getting this)
Amber-PASS
Yellow-PASS
Green-PASS
Blue-PASS(only Red arrows can have this colour)

EPT and GD is for name sake

the Judgment Day will be after your interview result
and furthermore i cleared my exam....

Did someone encounter any complex question during the exam or any ques which you think might be out of the league for many.

Something the followers of this thread will be pleased to hear:

Airbus finalizes record order from IndiGo: source

(Reuters) - Airbus has sealed a record deal worth $16 billion at list prices to sell narrow-body aircraft to Indian carrier IndiGo, an industry source with knowledge of the matter said on Tuesday.

The deal represents the biggest boost to date for the revamped A320neo and confirms an order provisionally announced in January after intense last-minute talks at the Paris Air Show.

"It's in the bag," the source said, speaking on condition of anonymity. The deal is expected to be announced on Wednesday.

IndiGo in January announced plans to buy 150 A320neo aircraft and 30 of the existing A320 model.

The order is a record for the number of planes involved in a single transaction.

the trend this time around shows lots of ppl passing as compared to previous pass percentages the second stage which is paid for now as aditya points out seems to be what indigo want people to be hitting for. im absolutely not questioning the people who put in the hard work and congrats to them all. but indigo are definately letting more people pass as compared to any previous batch. just a thought. dont want anybody to be jumping at me.

vivekh 21st Jun 2011 18:39

Try to look at it as an absolute number rather than a percentage. Just 9-10 people are passing out of 50. If they wanted to make a whole load of money, they would pass atleast 25-30 people easily, just to fail them at the second stage?

From what I hear, the passing percentage from the entrance to the LOI stage is rather high. Much higher than 50%. Anyone have any figures here? If they were after the money, they would have ensured that a low %age actually ended up with an LOI.

What I believe is that they were not getting enough people earlier (perhaps a tough paper) which is why they must have made the paper easier this time so more may pass.

The shortened cool-off period - 3 months from the older 6 months - is also indicative that they are looking for more people to fill positions.
